I just changed an oxyegen sensor and blablabla.... but anyways my air fual gauge used to bounce around alot. Now it stays at stoich and goes to lean at high rpms, is this what its soposed to do. (sorry can't search)

wel they says having intake and exhaust can make a car run lean but i am coming to realize this thing is pointless.

My air fual gauge allways reads 3 or 4 bars stoich, and at WOT its Rich.
i have mine tapped in at the OXy sensor near the cat on the B-pipe.
You can tweek the ratio by a few bars with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
If its real bouncey as you say try re-grounded it better, dont ground with cig ligther or amps etc, do the same with leads.

Hope this helps

hummm ... what mods do you have cause i have mines hooked up to the front 02 sensor . mines is about in the middle of stoich and goes to lean at wot, the weird thing is before it used to bonce around like crazy and i changed one of my 02 sensors.

it should bounce around on steady throttle. If you go WOT or blip the throttle it should go 2-3 bars in rich (green)

The A/F guage is pretty pointless in functionality. It's a show-thing more or less. It's not very accurate at all, but if you want to get a more accurate reading...

Blubyu is right about it bouncing around on steady throttle

that's the ecu pin diagram from a 4th gen. the highlighted are the pins that you tap into to get a signal feed to the guage

when you guys say bouncing around do you mean all the wayback and forth cause mines bounces around but stays in the stoich area. Also does the knock sensor have anything to do with it cause mines is broken.

Autometer had a picture of a "properly opertating A/F gauge" and it showed it bouncing all over...
so mine was obviously wired incorrectly...cause it stayed about half stoich then rich at WOT like many others...

Analog A/F meters like this one may be more useful than the light show...

Quite a bit can be learned from th e following link abou tA/F and EGT gauges...

Which A/F wire(s) do you tap into those pins on the ECU?

Mine is not bouncing at all, it's always stoich closer to the rich area. When I just rev it gets richer by about 2 or 3 units and goes back. At WOT it stays stoich for about 2 or 3 seconds then becomes as rich as it can get. Any way I can fix this?

I can't remember right now, but I believe it's the purple wire. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but there is a black and white wire for +/- then a signal feed wire which i believe is purple.

I'm looking at the installation instructions that i've found, and no i think that the shop didn't instal mine correctly. I have a 5" tach w/shift light and an A/F gauge both hooked up to my cruise control as the 12V Dash Lighting and whenever my shift light goes off my A/F reading goes lean by 3 or 4 units.
Red goes to Igniton, white and black is +/- and the violet wire hooks up between "Powertrain Control Module (PCM)" and the "Connector" with leads to the O2 sensor. When i looked, the only wire which was hooked up to my ECU was the green wire from the tach going to the tach terminal.
