I had my Odessey (680) in through about 2 weeks of cold weather and didn't have any problems. Temps were in the 20's -30's. I have since switched back to my normal battery because I added a system for the winter.

I have the hawker g13ep 10lb. battery. It has been good so far but yesterday morning it was like 10 degrees and it felt like the battery strained when starting, you could definately tell it was struggling. It has started every time though, so I can't complain.

i've had issues but dont know why. On two occassions my car was kept on so friends can watch a movie while i did something or we did something and on those two occassions (while car was off) the battery died. Quick recharge and presto but i thought the yellow tops could go for hours without dieing. They did for me before but one time we sat for 2 hours and it died, another time we sat for 25 minutes and it died...other then that, my car starts up fast, no issues at all.

I've got an Optima Yellow-top, and it's been consistent -20 degree days all of last week here in North Dakota and my car has absolutely NO problems starting/running. Even when I'm blaring my stereo.

One of my Optima Red Top's cells exploded. Yep. Good thing it is well sealed and did not open. Also a good thing they have a 3 year free-replacement/7 year pro-rated deal. Kinda suck though, all of the other batteries in the 7 cars we have were fine.

I have a red top and when the power went out one night, I hooked up my tv (20" ~ 100W) and lamp (13W) to it and had the tv on for about 1 1/2 hour, the lamp I had on for about 3 hours.
Car started fine the next morning.

It all depends on how much amperage your audio/ video system is sucking out of your battery, it gets higher whenever you play it louder.
Well here in Maui, the coldest we get to in around 50 degree, so no starting problem for me so far.... I've also installed a dual battery system that can be isolated from each other by a 100 watt solenoid. But both of my batteries died on me when i got back from a month vacation....I left the alarm on and my neighbor told me that they heard it go off a couple of times.

the two occassions where it died on me i wasnt playing the system loud. First time we was in bad cold weather with car off, radio on low and radio still worked and some things in car still worked but car wouldnt start and alarm made funny noise when trying to lock and unlock.
Second time friends were watching a movie with volume low and it was about 45 min. Once again cold weather. But i went to meets with car constantly blasting music but car off....i dont know, i guess different conditions play a role. I only have a 900 watt 5 channel amp, 400 going to subs, that isnt supposed to do much to the battery...from what i remember
