On my 97 SE I have a large cone inplace of the airbox. Anyway, what is this "boost sensor" that is on the stock ram air tube? I still have the thing in place, but what does it do? Any effect that now the air is no longer going through the stock tube?

That thing is what limits the boost from the maxima's turbos. It keeps the turbos at a nice safe 5psi. But people have modded it to allow upto 15psi of boost!

Only pullin your chain.. hehe.. =P But the boost sensor has nothing to do with airflow. You can leave it where it is if you plan to keep the intake tubing there. Or you can take it off the tube and ziptie it to something have fun.. BTW.. If you have a 97SE.. You DO have something in that tube! The ambient air temp sensor. Its at the other end of the tube where the airbox connected to the tube. So you can't just yank the tube out and ignore that. I didn't want to deal with relocating the sensor so I just left the tube in. =P
