All you suspension guys: in dire need of help!!!

Some of you may have seen my post about a week or two about a weird tug to the right under normal driving conditions, more on the highway than around town. Anyways I was going to have it checked out but it suddenly went away so I figured it was the freezing cold weather on the suspension so thought nothing of it.

Anywyas I went to visit a friend in Boston and no signs of any tugs or suspension problems were evident; but on the way back things changed. As soon as I got off the Mass Pike it started tugging to the right again, and towards CT it got worst to the point where the car was vibrating whenever it tugged to the right, and some of the tugs were more pulls where if I didn't hang onto the wheel the car would go off the road. Now this is not constant like an aligment problem, just once and a while more on turns. Now, once I finally made into town after a scary drive whenever I stop the car would tug left and right, but more to the right, and still doing the tugging while driving through town. When I finally made it to my neighborhood I was turning left and heard a really weird sound, like a clanking noise from my suspension. I turned in and went towards the end to check it out, so what I found was whenever I turn the wheel it makes a somewhat clicking noise and clanking which is really hard to describe. It's not something like the cv joint but not sure what else it could be? I mean I originally thought this would be power steering related but this noise would most likely not be happeneing if that were the case, although I did check the ps fluid and it is at the minimum, where I remember a while back I think it was almost at the maximum but can't remember 100%

Now a little history about the suspension itself, the car is lowered on maxspeeds with stock struts not installed by myself. They were already on the car when I bought the car and don't know who installed them, how they were installed and so on.

Basically if anyone has ANY information or thoughts on this PLEASE let me know, at this point the sudden noises from the car when turning makes me scared to even drive down to the local Nissan Dealership, so I kind of want to know at least maybe what I might be dealing with beforehand. Thanks everyone in advance for the help and I apologize for the long post.

Would it make sense to take apart the suspension and do a proper reinstall?

i bet ur stock struts are gone try getting stock springs or getting some new struts to go with the springs that should alleviate the problems, also if u go this route, make sure u have the rest of the suspension looked at while having this done. good luck.

Excellent place to start.

Take it apart and inspect your suspension components, control arm, tie rod ends, brakes, hub, bearings and the axel.

From what you describe happening, it should be easy to find the problem.

It could also be that one of your right front caliper is not releasing properly. When you get a chance, jack up the front of the car and rotate the wheels to see if they are spinning freely. Get inside the car and apply the brakes then go ot and spin the wheels again.

That actually makes sense, my brake light is on and my front end shudders when I brake, but I figured I had warped rotors...anyways car goes into the shop tomorrow

brake light is on? Check the fluid level...that could definitely be the problem. I would bet on it
