please help me with my messed up speedometer!!

well in a nutshell, i've switched gauge faces/overlays a few times and am finally done when i got se stock gauges. to do that though, i had to take off the needles followed by recalibrating them so they move right. well, basically the speedometer either doesn't start moving when i drive, or if i can hit it and get it to move, it falls at big bumps and doesn't always come back on. i changed the speed sensor just in case, problem not fixed. i even have an extra gauge cluster with now similar mileage and that speedo installed in my gauges just doesn't work at all. i really don't see anything physically wrong with it but i obviously am not able to see everything and how it works.

does anyone have any advice? i don't want to pay the dealer hundreds to fix something i so stupidly messed up. just to make everyone clear, it's not sticking like on a gauge, it's the needle itself. i assume it's the speedo head but do i have to specifically get it calibrated by nissan or should it be working if i install it right? maybe just my spare one is bogus too, i dunno.

any help would be so greatly appreciated. i wish i never bothered changing any part of the gauges to begin with so i wouldn't have this problem.

Pull the needle up a little away from the gauges. Should stop doing that

thanks for the try, but i'm long past that stage. i guess i left that part out, but it definately had nothing to do with the head of the needle or the gauge overlays.

on a good note, success! (i hope it lasts this time!) what i did was take it all apart again, made sure the needle would spin right and was calibrated correctly as best as i could. then, on the back of the cluster, i noticed one of the screws wasn't seated fully so i re-tightened all of them and put that one down. maybe that had something to do with it because the washer seemed to almost ground or connect the speedo to those (metal lines..). then i reset my ecu before starting it up, drove and walla. all is good and i even went over bumps and it was fine, knock on wood. not that anyone really cares and prolly read the whole thing, but hopefully it's all better because i've had this problem for a while and my knuckles were really starting to hurt from tapping it so much.

i know i babble, sorry.

cliff notes: took everything apart again, made sure it looked all good, reset ecu, went for a drive and cured!
