Rotor help

ok..i used the search feature and it didnt resolve my question. which rotors are best for straight oem replacement. i do not want cross-drilled or slotted rotors. i just want to replace my worn original rotors. i hear blank brembo rotors are good. where can i get the cheapers oem replacement rotors. and do they need to be macnhined/surfaced/turned if they are brand new before i put them on or not? thanks

As Micah asked... Have your rotors even been turned (resurfaced)? If not... all you have to do is resurface them. They can be resurfaced several times (up to the minimal thickness).
There's no real use to get new rotors... It's just a waste of money unless you get slotted/drilled... Getting "new BREMBO" stock sized rotors won't help braking performance one bit...

brembo's part # for front rotors is JBR-505
go to carparts.com and search for that #.. I believe they are about $45 each on their site...
maybe after one of thir discounts (if they still have any) you can get 'em even cheaper.
but no, no machining necessary. just install the new ones and drive easy on 'em for about 500 miles to properly break-in the rotors, then you're home free.
if you're also installing new pads, DO NOT follow the bedding instructions on the pads. it'll warp the new rotors the first time you drive on 'em. follow the instructions for breaking in the discs only.. the new pads will be fine.

hey Matt, i performed the rear rotor warpage test by driving in the parking lot at 5MPH and slowly pulling onmy ebrake with the button depressed. I did not feel any significant vibration. That probably means my rear rotors are allright, right? How hard would it be for me to swap my own rotors? And are brembo's any heavier than the stock ones? or lighter? thanks

Doesn't sound like your rear are warped...
With warped Front rotors... you should be able to feel the vibration on your steering wheel depending how badly they are warped.
The Brembo OEM replacement shouldn't weigh any more or less... IIRC the stock front rotor is 15lbs when I weighed mine during my swap...

that is the whole thing. my rotors have been resurfaced twice already. i'm not seeking perfomance increase, i just want my car to brake as smooth as any...
