Question about the CD display on 04 Max

I have an 04 Max SE It has the driver's perferred package and also the 320-watt bose stero system. This Maxima does not have NAV or XM. My question is: I have noticed that when I am playing a CD, and I cycle through the display options, the screen says: "NO CD NAME" and "NO TRACK NAME". Is there a way to actually name your CD's so that the screen will say the name of the CD. I know alot of after market CD players have this feature and was wondering if this can be done on the Max's stock radio. If so, then I would like to know how to do it. The manual doenst mention it anywhere. Thanks!

My guess is that Nissan didnt go with anything that fancy. A lot of cd players can also read the "CD-TEXT" segment in some audio cd's. Most cd's dont have it, but quite a few do. More often than not, you'll find that cd's put out by Sony will have a CD-TEXT segment. See if you can find a newish Sony cd and check it out. This should probably be posted in the 6th gen forum or the audio forum anyway...

Some CD's sold in the stores already have CD text titling of the CD and its tracks. The only way to tell, is if the CD player has the CD text feature, which is in your case. If the CD does not have CD text, you can actually burn a copy of it and title the tracks on your computer. If your burner has CD titling, then it will burn the tracks with its titles. Most songs downloaded from the internet has this also. Your CD burner MUST have the CD titling feature, though.
