I mean standardized tests, like the ones you see in car and driver. The tests they tipically use for handling is skid pad and slalom speed. What do you guys think?

Spending an afteroon driving around in Houston traffic (plenty of emergency lane changes, etc.) and then drive out to my house through some nice twisty country roads.

A nice drive in your local curvy mountain road or a canyon.

I think I should have made this question more clear. Me and some kid were having a debate. He said a viper GTS handles better than a Vette Z06. If we were to look it up like from a magazine review such as car and driver, what should we look at to determine which handles better? (Skidpad, slalom speed etc since these are the tests shown in the "Performance" section of these articles.)

I'm talking about standardized tests, not going around in traffic or an on ramp or something.

Well, since I deal with what I wrote on a daily basis, I consider it rather standardized!!!

lol

Actually, if you are looking at stats from the same Mag, look at them ALL. Skidpad is fine for determining the lateral stability of the car, slalom shows not only lateral handling but also the balance of a vehicle as weight is transferred from side to side and how quickly it can compensate for this.

Like most everything in life, there is NO one test to answer everything.

A Hummer handles better than a Viper in some situations. "Handling" is a very subjective term.
