Anyone out there know where I can find some good instructions on painting the calipers? I tried maximadriver.com and maxfaqs, but no luck.

Basically two ways to do it.

1. Take the wheels off, mask everything you don't want painted. Spray away.

2. Take the brake calipers off and paint them.

please prep it before painting, if you don't prep it will look like crap

take wheel off
clean like hell
use high temp paint and a clear coat
base coat might help the color come out better

my old site has directions too, but i don;t know if its down i'm in the middle or rebuilding my site

I did a search on a couple of search engines putting in "painting brake calipers". You should get at least a dozen decent results. Make sure you spend as much time cleaning as you do painting...use brake cleaner or an industrial degreaser.

I did this when i first got my maxima...i took a little different approach.
1st. U have to get those things clean. I used a toothbrush + break cleaner and cleaned each caliper twice. If u don't have a good base the paint will just wear off over time
2. I bought spray paint (high temp Ruby Red) but ididn' spray anyhting. INstead i sprayed the paint onto a sheet of metal, and from there i used 1 large paint brush and a small one and painted away. I eneded up doing like 3-4 coats, i was bored so i spent a really long time! And form my my (below) it looks pretty good!

I think the paint will make the heat soak in the caliper longer instead of having it released?
