Sorry, I have to ask a silly question

As some of you know I have not owned a car in quite a few years. I was always a truck guy.
This being said, when I hit an off ramp going a little to fast in the truck I really felt it, I mean it would feel like the truck was going to flip.....so to speak.

Now the Max doesn't feel like this at all and I love it!!! I find myself pushing what I think are the limits on corners all the time ( hell I haven't even lowered my ride yet 8) )

Now my question to you performance experts is this.

Is it possible, or should I be worried about a set of tires coming un-attached from a rim ( at the bead ) when I hammer it into a corner???

I mean has this ever happend? The tire comes off the rim because of the force of the turn?

The traction of the tire to the road should give way and slip well before the tire ever seperates from the rim ( at the bead ) right?????????????

Any thoughts or experiance??
Please post up!

Thanks
OPIPE

It's POSSIBLE for it to happen...but only if you're doing somethin stupid like reverse donuts.

If you're not lowered and not have all aftermarket shocks/struts...you'll find an even BIGGER surprise.

Strut bars make a good change too...

Traction SHOULD be good as long as it's not wet. The tire WILL screech before is comes off the rim itself.

It happened on my friend's tempo. It aint a maxima, but it still happened. It isnt likely though, by any means.

it really shouldnt happen unless you're running like 5psi in your tires. for 4-wheelin people run very low pressures (like 7-8 psi) with a huge sidewall and many never pop a bead. your traction should give out long before you have to worry about that

The tire will lose traction and understeer before it comes off the rim. If you enjoy the Maxima's handling with stock suspension and tires, just wait till you lower it and put some performance rubber on it!

most likely will not happen. I wouldn't worry about it. If you ever want more handling, get a rear sway bar, front sturt bar, performance tires, and lower the car.

No way this can happen on 17s or 18s or 19s or 20s......you get it.

The bigger the rim the harder it is for the tire to come off.
My friend's beater car, Chevy Cavalier (90), this has happened.
We were doing a "U-Turn" (with an E-brake) as you can call it and the tire slipped off and we kept going. sounded like a blow off valve. F***ed the rim's edge yet we still put it on and kept driving.
