Can 9004 bulbs fit in Cefiro H4 housing?

I tried putting my 9004 HID kit in the H4 one-piece cefiro housing but for some reason the light output is just not right. I tried aligning the headlights but no good. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Please get a H4 kit, the H4 bulbs need to be shielded. Also the 9004 has different focal points than the H4.

9004 just plain suck. HID or not. If you can find a set of H4's go with it, but the 9004 are a bit shorter than the H4, and that's why your probably having problems. They aren't sitting where the normal H4 do, dramatically reducing the light. I don't think there will be a whole lot you can do about it with out doing some serious modifications to the housing....and I don't think anyone would be up for doing that to a Cefiro housing.

Kind of funny... You'll spend like $300 for the Cefiros and then do that modification to get it to fit but don't want to spend the $20 or so for the right bulbs?

What is so funny about it? I dont think you can find xenon 6000K H4 bulbs for $20 can you? I am just asking since I have a complete hID kit sittin and cant really purchase H4 bulbs at this time (its sunday btw). I posted here so I could get some help but if you dont have anything useful to say then please dont post at all. Thank you!

Yes, with an adapter. You can fit D2R and D2S bulbs into a H4 housing. Just make sure you have the adapter shields.

Here i what you need.

103016 Billet Aluminum Adapter H4 to D2S/D2R

This adapter allows the D2S or the D2R HID bulb to be used on a standard H4 headlamp housing, such as motorcycle or aftermarket automotive style housing. Has correct beam alignment shield to project light from the HID lamp to the road, eliminating upward glare. Perfect low beam disbursement is achieved with a clean cut-off point. Price is for SINGLE unit, order two for cars, one for motorcycles. Does not include D2S bulb, ballast or wiring.

I guess it would depend on how well you plan your mods...

I didn't plan to take apart my BBK to redo 13" expecting them to be done that same day... So my car would be down for (in my case) a week as the brackets were being fabricated...

The whole point of Cefiro's is the nice H4 cut off pattern vs the crappy 9004 headlamps we have stock. I didn't understand why someone would "buy a Porsche and put 13x5" rims on it"... defeats the purpose...

If you have and HID kit that the adaptor is epoxied for a different bulb style, they you will need new H4 capsules (or the above H4 adaptor with D2S as Alfonso pointed out) to go with your existing ballasts, etc.

Max4speed, try to get yourself the H4 HID setup because you will be doing yourself some good to get away from the 9004 setup. 9004's just plain suck as far as the output goes. You should be able to get a kit for a decent price and just sell the one you have now.

Thanks bud!

Deezo - Thanks for the reply. I kinda knew that I have to get H4 bulbs but was stretching my luck since the 9004s fit perfect too. Thanks all

as many have already pointed out on this thread.. sometimes you don't know how crappy the 9004 output is until u drive around with the h4 lighting.

I thought it was 'convenient' that 9004 fit into the cefiro headlights with the clips so I drove around it for about a week before my h4 HIDs came in.

As I swapped my 9004s out with the H4 hid setup, I wish I had a camera then to show the overwhelming difference in output between the two bulb types. You're basically looking at H4 lighting up the road at TWICE the length as the 9004.
