Not bad...but it doesnt blow my mind.
Only 1/10th of a sec quicker than my Maxima was stock...
And that's only a result of better traction...
Also $6,000 more expensive than the Max...
WRX aint bad lookin' except those headlight...gag.
Then again the 5th gen taillights are similarly ugly.
I'm sure with minor mods the WRX will haul anus though.
Yea I know...I'm a hater.
I y'em what I y'em.

how 'bout these stats?

not sure if they are from C and D, but I recently read them in a car mag:
WRX: less than 20 miles per gallon
lucky if you get 250 miles out of a tank of gas.

gotta love those stats...sticking with my MAX.

IF A FIFTH GEN WAS ON A ROLL AND RACED A WRX WE WOULD DEFINETLY LEAVE IT IN IT'S RALLY DUST. I JUST DON'T LIKE IT PLUS THE ONE WE GET ISN'T EVEN CLOSE TO THE ONE IN JAPAN. (THERE ARE LIKE 4 OR 5 VERSIONS AND WE GET THE LOWEST ONE)

I think people are missing the point of the WRX....its not a drag racer, its a rally car. It's a GREAT rally car. I wouldn't mind having that as a weekend fun car but everyone is right about one thing....it is soooo ugly

actually no i got the point first of all i did not imply that the wrx is a drag car if i did i wouldn't compare it to the maxima. Also this wrx is nothing like the rally car because the rally cars are hand made and built also it has a different chassis making it almost a different car the one you see in the rally . It costs over $500 000. with that money you could make almost any car a great one Ex: huandyi tiberon and the peaugot 306. I could go on.....

Totally true. I test drove one last week and was duely unimpressed. I really, really, wanted to like it! But, short of its excellent launching abilities, its power from a roll is most uninspiring. I got back in Mad Max and it felt notably quicker. I am hoping to find a nice shiny new WRX at a light sometime soon

But, wait till the aftermarker gets goign on this car. It should pep things up accordingly.

A little misinformation is being spread For once, us Americans actually got one of the faster WRX models. Europe and the Aussies only got the 215hp version. We got the 227hp version. The US spec WRX also runs the Jap-spec valvetrain which can easily handle 1000rpms more than the redline suggests Out of the box, these cars are cool and quirky. Many mags are getting 5.7-5.9 0-60s and 14.5-14.7s@93-95mph out of the these cars. I'd say that's a hell of a deal for a 4 door sedan. I think many of you are completely missing potential modifications for this car. 300hp is easily within grasp for this car with very simple mods. How does 13s sound? The suspension is a carry over so all the old WRX parts carry over. The suspension travel of this car is immense. You can go over a speed bump at 45mph and barely feel it (no joke).

I personally know a guy who was selected to go to Savannah, GA to drive the press cars and rally cross them. He said it was by far the funnest car he's ever driven. It can easily be provoked into a 4 wheel drift and will easily rotate if you know what you are doing. The BBS 17" wheel option made a HUGE difference in the handling capabilites of this car. He also said some of the better drivers were getting 14.1s@96mph (vericom) with a wicked launch and power shifting. This guy has driven every car you can think of including having a Z06 for a weekend. He said the WRX does everything extremely well.

When the WRXs start entering the used market (1-1.5 years), I'll be there, money in hand, and mods in the garage.

And you wont need much money in hand either...
Subaru's do not hold their value very well...
actually their resalue value *sucks*...
though i'm sure the WRX will do better...
