The only better option IMHO to be considered here would be to just put the VQ35 into a B13.

You guys shouldn't underestimate the QR25 with a turbo. It makes some serious power.

A guy just got his Sentra Se-r Automatic dyno tuned at 6.8 lbs of boost and it put 270 to the wheels. With potential for more with a aftermarket fuel pump. It was running lean at the high end.

No one knows how much the internals can safely support but there is a dozen people between 250-270whp on stock internals without problems yet *knock on wood*. The block needs to be sleeved over 320ish probably.

One guy has pistons, rods, and sleeved the block dyno'd 391 to the wheels at 17lbs of boost with tuning issues still.

Psst....did you call DAVEB yet?

BTW, plenty of 300+whp internally stock Maxs. At least one with ~460whp@15+psi and another over 500whp with nitrous. All 3.0s.

I didn't call dave yet been really busy lately... maybe friday, Im not dissing on the 3.0/3.5 but if i want to be fast, i dont have to do a motor swap.

I did see a video for a 4th gen maxima dyno 476whp 2840lbs leather a/c, sun roof. Very impressive.

I almost think I should of got a VQ30 instead.. are they stronger? do they have thicker cylinder walls? I dont know much about the VQ30/35 I know a good amount about the VG30...

VQ30s have a shorter stroke, so they can rev higher.

VQ35s have stronger everything as far as I know PLUS torque. We're just finally seeing boosted VQ35 Maximas, so only time will tell what they can do.

Thats cool, the reason i was asking, ive seen twin turbo 350z's only putting down 350whp. I wasnt very impressed for a 3.5 turbo putting down so little power.

Anyrate, im really excited... to get started.

What are the specs on that kit that put down 402? That's damn impressive IMHO

You certainly did the right thing by getting the VQ35. You'll make more power with it than you would a VQ30.

Thanks, If this goes fairly well I will certainly be looking for another car to put a VQ in. ASSUMING i can get a longblock cheap again and everything goes half way smoothly.

Ive always had a Fondness of 84-89 300zx's :-) Imagine a 240z Datsun with a vq35 and big disc brakes :-)

seriously... 84-85 300zx with great body bad tranny/motor
or a 91-97 Sentra Se-r / 200sx Se-R

Id much rather put it in the 300zx for RWD and t-Tops.. i already have a daily driver ya know.

84 300zx's were the lightest of the Z31's and with a VQ i bet it would even be lighter.

I'm definetly feeling your ideas man, goodness gracious a Z32 with a VQ35-TT

Good luck and godspeed with your Sentra Spec-VQ. Keep updating us- I'm extremely interested in how this goes.
