Pics of my car with 19"s

Haven't posted pics in over a year now, and now with everyone doing it, I figure why not. Let me know what you think.

Shadow, your car looks *****! How much did you pay for the Wings West mid-wing? I really like it on the car. Finally, was there a lot of work to mount in on the car?

cheers,

five

Thanks. The wing was like $290, and they had to do some custom work to mount it. I didn't like the midwing made for a Maxima, so the wing on my car is a thruster wing for an Infinity G20. They had to shave the mounting points some because the maxima trunk is curved and the infinity trunk is flat. So at first the wing wouldn't sit flush.

Actually, the springs are ground controls now. The pic was taken pretty soon after I swapped from the Intrax to ground controls, so I didn't have time to change the roll call yet. Notice it also says Borbet and Yokohama, haven't had time to make new graphics yet.

The rims were like 2k shipped w/ tires. I was going to get 18" Racing Hart M7000 Evo's, but they wouldn't clear the brakes, so I just ended up getting the 19" ADR's.

Yeah, I got the wheels mail order from www.wheelmax.com Pretty fast shipping. The rotors are 11" in diameter, it's a 300ZX brake conversion. I'm looking at getting the Fast brakes upgrade to 12.25" brakes or the Stillen upgrade to 13" brakes. But gotta take care of some other stuff first.

How do you like the ground controls with the tokicos?

Is the ride very harsh?

Thanks

The ride isn't too bad. Unless I drop it too low, then the ride gets horrible. It's a little bouncier than the intrax, but that's more of a problem with the Tokicos.

Re: Lookin' sweet there

Actually, those aren't stock brakes, those are 300ZX TT front brakes. But they're the same size as stock. Skyline brakes aren't much bigger, after they've been modified to fit, they're only 11.75" in diameter.

Jeff,
Looks good. What is the offset on the ADR? I have the TE-37 sitting at home right now. I got the 18X8.5 with +40mm offset. The other option was +30mm. I don't think Max can fit +30mm. I hope the AP/Stillen Brakes will clear them. I'll find out this weekend.

Jeff,
looking good!!!!

The new rims are sweet.

Your car looks to be developing fast! I guess the ap sign works is paying off.

How did you do in the GA tech show?

I've got the fast brake deal coming soon, hope my volks will clear or I'll be pissed!!!!!!

Hate to miss Jays show this weekend. Sure would like to see both our cars make some honduh peeps look twice. Oh well.

Try hard to show up for Nopi the following weekend. Hell it won't be the same w/o you there. especially I think there should be some local ATL maxima folks there who's never seen your car.

I'll try my best to be there. I might show up late and not enter the show. With you there, it's kind of pointless to go up against you anyways = ). Yeah, the AP-Signworks thing is doing pretty well, hopefully it'll get even bigger. Tech show isn't until this weekend, I have a pretty good chance to win it though. Can't wait to see your brakes, I might be interested in getting a set in the future. The Z brakes look so small now w/ the 19"s.

Offset was a 42 and they didn't clear. I had to put in 1/4" spacers which made the offset 35.5 or so. But there's more than adequate clearance now, so I'm thinking about getting thinner spacers. I don't like the loss of threads now holding my wheels on. Do you have a better idea? What's the difference between H&R spacers and regular spacers? I've been trying to get longer wheel studs, but the shop can't seem to find anybody that makes ones that fit.

I'm surprise you can't find longer wheel studs. I believe Steve in Philly and John both are using spacers with longer wheel studs. I don't remember where he got the them from, but maybe you can call e-mail him or call him. I'll try to dig around in my e-mail achieve.

Like the Rims. They look just like the rims that I'm getting. I was looking at the Volk Daytona Speeds, but they were $$$
So now I'm getting (real soon) the 5zigen Fireball wheels in hyperblack. Take a look, they look nearly the same.
