alternator replacement question

alternator replacement question

alternator is whining, autozone said diode is bad after checking it, baiscally im strapped for cash and wanst sure which alternator to get the 110 amp or 125 amp, wound up getting the 110 because they had to special order the 125, i have a 95 GLE, winter package with heated mirrors and seats, wondering waht the ramifications are if i use the 110 amp instea dof the 125 amp? id just order it online but it wont get here quick enough because i dont know when itll fail on me...can any wiseman help me?

Why do you need it so quickly? Before I swapped out my alternator this past weekend, mine was whining an I drove it for a month that way (80 miles a day). You are doing your car a disservice by going with a weaker alternator because you should be sticking with the same amperage or better.

if i can drive it around a month or 2 weeks, id be fine with that, i guess ill special order it and hold off, i was under the impression it would stop working on me real soon, ill hold off and get a 125+ amp alty, thanks again deezo
