My car has a 6 in crack on the windshield. ( a line crack) I heard you can fix it for about $60. How do they fix it? BTW, will my insuranse cover this?

 

Depends on your insurance. I think if you have glass coverage or something, you get like 1 free windshield a year. If your insurance doesn't give it for free, they'll make you pay the deductible. If your deductible is too much, just get it done without the insurance company since it'll be cheaper.

 

I used safelite (http://www.safelite.com/repair/repairindex.jsp) to repair mine. The repair was covered by my insurance with no deductible to pay. They repair cracks if it is out of the driver's line of site and it can be covered completely with a dollar bill. The repair prevents the crack from becoming bigger but it will still be visible.

 

I have a crack on my windshield that just happened a few days ago, it was from a 4 inch line, now over 12 inches. I have to get it replace and damn it cost 657 bucks for just the windshield.

if you put crazy glue at the end of the crack it will keep it from spreading do it from the inside. i just replaced my windshield cost 125.00 installed.

 

Where are you buying it from? Windshield installers usually have good prices for installed windshields.
