With $32K ... Max or TL?
#42
I'm not a fan of the uninspired tailights nor that BMW-inspired (or ripped-off, which ever you prefer) on the TL, but the front is absolutely wicked and its profile is much better than the G's.
It seems that the mags have been choosing the G over the TL for nearly all of the comparisons, but lets remember, mag racing has no credibility on the .org (unless it favors us)

If you are set on those two choices and want a NEW car, then the new TL is DEFINITELY your choice.
If you're willing to consider slightly used, then I might consider the M45 too.
I'm not too impressed w/the 6th gen max, G35 sedan, and the Altima.

I'd say go with a manual TL if it's between the Max and the TL. 1) It's a luxury brand. 2) There're aren't as many TLs as there are Maximas. But like many others, if I had that kind of cash, I'd get a G35. Sedan? Coupe? Your call.

I think G35 sedan is just ugly! the coupe is SEXY! i have test driven the TL a few days ago, comparing that TL- $33k vs. my 95'max-$5k don't see much difference in handling, ride, or pick up speed... (i don't race, even though i love to woot sometimes )

You have to actually take it OUT of the parking lot.

None of the above.......
It's RWD, 340hp/390tq worth of 5.7L HEMI V8 (pushrod powah!), lots of Mercedes Benz in it (I believe it's built off of the E-class platform but not sure), and also $32k.
Do dem dare teeeeeee EL's and Maximuhs godda HEMI in 'em? All you ricers can go get a blingin new TL with that wimply little 3.2 and slap 22's on it. Meanwhile daddy will be waxing y'all with his Hemi.

Do you have any suspension/handling modifications?

The lines on the TL are terrible...it reeks of stodgy, cookie-cutter Honda styling, in my opinion...the interior is a step-up in quality over the Maxima however...
I'd go with the G35 coupe, or the Chrysler, that car's ridiculous....

Wouldn't it be great if Billy Madison or Mr. Deeds could answer this question, Maxima vs. TL? The answer hasn't changed since the TL came out. It has always been a better looking car than the Maxima, and here in 2k4, the former is very good looking, and the latter is downright ugly, even worse than the 5th gen. Instead of doing all these crazy xenon and led projects, why not just buy a car that comes with them all around?
The absolute denial that looks do matter is funny on this forum. I'd hate to see your significant others if you think that way, ugh. Caring about looks is fine, it's ok, it's normal, it's not shallow. It's a fact of life.
