Youll have do either weld the holes shut and repaint the trunk, or bondo the holes up and repaint the trunk. Id say leave the spoiler on, it looks better, and less hassle.

Youll have to repaint the trunk either way, which means $$ to spend on that.

If you want to do it correctly, Weld them shut.

if you dont want to weld them you can also fiberglass the holes shut. thats what i did instead of welding them(for me there was alot of rust welding wasnt going well). if your suffecient with fiberglass you can have the trunk lid off , fiberglassed, painted( paint color depending) installed and a new wing if you want. luckly for me i was able to do this at my work (its nice to work @ a )sterio shop. and i got it all done in one day including sanding, kinda had too since it was going to rain hard the next day.

would this process be the same if you were going to take out the factor antenna?

You have to take a piece of sheet metal and place behind the trunklid, then on the outside of th e trunk lid put a few tack welds in the hole. Only do about two tack welds then move on to the next hole after all are done go back to the begining and add more tack welds, if you do more than two you might warp the trunk lid. then grind down the welds, add some all metal. sand it down, bondo, smooth it out and primer.
hope that helps
