cattman headers

From what I have read/remember most people say the cost plus installation cost is just to tough to tackle (versus gains/affordable price of the y-pipe). If you are going for every little bit of all motor power I say get them. I know that I am.

Header List:
1. MrEous - Stone Racing
2. Y2KSESteve - Cattman
3. Iron Lung - Cattman
4. Max4lyfe - Cattman
5. optimus310 - Cattman

Yeah i have them as well. The power gained over the y-pipe alone is definately there but like ceasar said, kinda pricey.

Price is around $750-$775 + shipping and i got my headers at around 90K miles, no problems with install, took us a while, but no problems. The only thing that really gave us any trouble was after the install. They seemed to have pushed the rest of the exhaust up and toward the back, so we had to modify a couple heat shields to keep them from making all kinda noise.

I had the same problem, until I realize that I had put the flex pipe backwards so it was touching the body, and some heat shields. Then I looked at the pic of them on vqpower when back and notice the difference. After that they went in smooth with no problems. Also the rear 02 sensor didn't went in all the way. It seems that the thread is smaller than the 02 sensor, but it was enough to get it all tight, and with lo leaks

AZ guys representing the Cattman. These headers make some good power, especially paired with the MEVI.

Soak them all in WD-40. The hardest part is the rear heat shield.

no you don't re-use the heat shields. And you shouldn't have any problems with the bolts. They are torqued at like 15f/lbs. I only has a problem with the one close to the A/C it came off with the nut, but I just put it back in when I installed the new header

You want the header cause they look dope? That's not a good reason to spend $750. You can't even see them when they're on the car.

I do not plan on getting the headers just because they have a cool looking finish. I have read somewhere on this board that the fitment is much better than the hotshot's, hence the price. the aesthetics was just a plus. didnt mean to sound like adding stickers to my ride was the next best thing in performance.

The fittments are the exact same, the only downfall to the hotshots is the weaker flange conneting to the rear cat. So if the Hotshots do infact fit 95-03 I don't see how the $200+ difference is worth it IMO. I have seen both and the comparision was done about my car so Im not just making assumptions. Hotshots fit perfect...

Now if Cattman or HS will relocate the FRONT 02s for VQ30s, so we only have to move the rears.

There is a "GD price" on HS headers through SWA for $579, I think, in the GD forum.

Cattman is importing these guys, so that really limits his flexibility to lower prices much.

No, HS makes VQ35 headers, but they'll fit.

It just requires relocating the 02s and adding a EGR tube bung(95-99?), but that could put you back to Cattman prices.

Auugh, just ignore that last post. Time to go home.

So no auto 4th gen has one yet? Hm...

Would the headers be pointless if the rest of the exhaust is stock?

Me taking a joy ride with camera in one hand, and going through the gears. Might give some people an idea of what my car sounds like on the inside.

Mods: cattman headers, warpspeed b pipe with resonator , and magnaflow racing series muffler. you really need a little bass with the pc speakers to hear the difference i think.

the server went down last night, back up again. with the y pipe setup, it was a totally different sound in the cabin. Lots of deep drone and just extremely loud, this is a billion times better. i need to get my wife to tape instead of me , getting lots of the intake

I will have a much better idea after this weekend, but with the headers im having to launch at higher rpms than the normal 2500 rpm. Im surprised the chariot changed so much. And I didnt realize this until my 4th and finally run. I launched at 3000 rpms with little to no wheel spin. I havent been able to do that in 80 previous launchs ?

Something was up with the chariot at the track, but with the way the car is running this week, im excited about the results this weekend ( going to midnight madness). this run was after 135 mile drive and straight on to the track and a whole bag of other negative factors.
