560,000 plus miles

I currently have over 560,000 miles on my 1989 Maxima. ORIGINAL ENGINE!!
I've never even had the valve covers off. I was once told that Nissan engineers
might be interested in my car but I have no clue as to whom or how I should
approach Nissan. I was hoping for some guidance.

As soon as they touch your car your longevity will be gone, keep it your and our secret. Good job by the way. You think you'll get a 350z when it clocks 999999?

Maybe they will give you free car if you give them that one. They probally want to see the damage and effects after half a million miles.

Represent us 3rd Gens , but...

People always say the Max engines are tough, but how many tranny changes / rebuilds have you done to it? And what kinda driving do you do... 560K+ miles on a car no more than 16 years is insane!

just take it to a dealership and ask if they'll give you a new car in exchange for your old one.

my father told me a volvo dealership traded his friend's 700k mile wagon for a brand new volvo of his choice.

Impressive! I think you deserve a nice shiny new loaded 2005 Maxima...

There's that old Mercedes in their TV commercial that's run a million too.

Wow! I thought I had a lot of miles on '89. It had 332,000 when I sold it. Original engine, of course. But, man, THAT's a lot of miles. Half a million? Congrats. By the way, if anyone wants to see what a car looks like with 332K on it, check out my webpage. http://members.cardomain.com/wvmax

Just shows Nissan started with a great V6 and got better at making them! That's why the VQ is such a kick *** motor now. I'm only at 202k with my 86 and it still runs like new. Can't wait to see some VE's and VQ's get up there too.

Wow...that VG30DE is an awesome engine in terms of reliability. I have heard too many stories about those things being bullet proof. My VQ on the other hand

EGADS!!! that's a lot of miles. I would be worried if the car gonna conk any day. That tells me two things, DURABILITY AND RELIABLE engine. Makes me wanna brag about my car over those junk heap that people drive that don't even last past 100k miles.

If my circumstances hadn't changed, my '02 would be at well over 100,000 by now. When I let it go, it had almost 60,000.

An old man (in his 40's I think) once told me there's no steel like Swedish steel. It's too darn bad that new S40 doesn't come in a manual, because it is good-looking and the price is crazy cheap, like 31 fully-loaded except navigation.
