Problem with my Eagle RSA's
#1
I've been driving my '99 Maxima with the stock 16" rims and Eagle RSA's and they have around 42000km on them. Today, I was looking at the right front tire and there is a bump on the side wall. It looks like the tire is bubbling or something. I've never hit a curb with these tires so I'm not sure what the cause is. I was thinking it could be from a pot hole or the cold weather.
On Monday I'm going to give my Nissan dealer a call. Is there a warranty on these tires? Also, if they give me a new tire to replace the right front, should I replace the left front tire with the spare tire so that I'll have two new tires up front? I appreciate any help.

42000km?
42000/1.6= 26250 miles. But those tires haven't been exactly a brand that everyone on the board favored. I personally have not driven on them so I can't comment. But if you have driven 26K on these tires, the dealer can say that you have had some road hazard (even though you can attest to the contrary). But I don't think that they will replace your tires. It is worth a shot though--cause you never know.
But bank on getting new tires. And if you do, get a new pair (two) for the front.

My RS-As have 45K miles on em and have tread left. Amazing since they are only treadwear 260. But the sidewalls have some cracks and 2 of em leak air so I keep refilling them. Trying to put off the Pep Boys Futura GLH as long as I can but I hope I can do a 4/$169 or something, though I'm sure they don't have a 215/55 only a 225/50-ZR16.
If Nissan hooks you up they'll probably pro-rate.
I think they would do that as long as you're nice about it. Nissan seems to help you out when you're pleasant to them. When you're not it seems everything gets denied after 12,000 miles.
You're spare in Canada is full-size not compact? Do they give you another SE alloy rim?

RSAs
My new Max came with Goodyear RSAs as factory equipment. They were severly and unevenly worn out in 17,300 miles and as a result got extremely loud. I requested the dealer to replace them but they said no and basically told me that it's normal wear and tear and the warranty would not cover that. So, I vowed never to buy from them again. I had to go out and buy a set of new tires ....
Anyway, good luck to you. Please let us know if your dealer helped you and I will give mine hell, accordingly.
