What could be wrong with my car?

My car has a bad vibration when I get up to about 70 mph. I thought it might stop if I got new tires but it got new ones and they have less than 2,000 miles on the and they ahve been balanced 2 times. I am thinking it may be something in the font-end? What do you think?

is it only when the car is going straight or when you are braking?

my car does the same thing.
did it with stock 15" wheels, does it with my 17's now, had both rebalanced and aligned more than once.

I've learned to live with it, especially because it stops if you go faster.

I have noticed the same thing that if you go about 80 or 85 it doesn't do it as bad. I think that all maximas do that but I wish that something could be done about it.

My Maxima doesn't do that, but my 93 Taurus that I had before the Max used to have a problem like that.
I balanced the tires on it too, and it didn't fix anything.
It was weird, since it would shake pretty bad from 78-81mph. Before or after that, everything was smooth.
I'm interested if someone finds out what causes it, but I just learned to live with it too.

Worn CV joints will cause vibration at highway speeds.

my max does the same exact thing. I got brand new set of wheels and tires, so it's not a bent rim (in my case at least). I guess that's the suspension design. any one with aftermarket suspension having same problems?

get your rotors turned. if you have a bent rim, the people balancing your tires should have told you. if you have a runout dial gauge, you can put your car up and spin your wheels to see if they are bent yourself... but the wheel balancer will tell ya if your rim is bent.

but yeah, look at your brakes. get em turned at your local schucks or napa and see if that solves the problem. does it vibrate *only* when you are going straight? does the brake pedal pulse? we need more info!

Normally car vibrates if you have bad tires or not properly balance. It happened to me on the Mercedes, that I was driving back from Phoenix and the car was shaking horribly at 70+ mph. The Result: I had worn tread on the tires and two blow outs.
