Is there a noticeable difference with a front strut bar?

I am about to get a 2002 maxima in the near future and I am wondering if a front strut bar is actually worth getting.

I think so, yes. I'd say it's worth getting, but find one on ebay for $25. The $150+ ones only look better, they don't function better.

FSTB is probably one of best bang for your buck mods you can get. They are cheap, and they help out a lot in cornering. I'm pretty happy with the one I did for my car. Even when I had my crappy cadillac like suspension, the FSTB help out a lot in cornering.

It's definitely worth it. One of the bolts on my strut bar fell out at one point so it wasn't connected and I was wondering why my car felt so floaty around a few turns. Then I realized what had happened and reconnected it and it felt much better. It's not a miracle worker but its definitely worth the money and an easy install

To me the FSTB was worth the cost.

Like all the rest said, get the knock off for 15$ or so, unless you want to go the expensive route. It's basically a piece of metal that restricts some of the flex in the front during harder turns.

You will not however, really notice any difference during granny driving.

They look pretty easy to install, are they? I really don't have much experience, but it looks like all you do it bolt it to either side of the car.

If you wanna go the really cheap route you could just bend an weld a piece of square stock in there.

^True. As for the cheap ones functioning as well as the expensive ones, I'd have to somewhat disagree. The chap ones have bolts at each end connecting the brackets to the bar, that is where 99% of the flexing is caused. The cattman if I remember correctly is a solid piece throughout thus eliminating most of the twist.

If the flex in the cheapos bothers you, you can always drill out the stock holes and stick in huge bolts and nuts, eliminating any movement.

From what ive read, not only in this thread but others posts the FSTB is a great mod at a very low cost. If your going for more looks than go then you may want to buy a nice shiny expensive one. Otherwise buy the cheap one.

PS. sorry about Pat Burns.

Yep. For less than $20. Best deal around for a mod.

Helps a little in cornering and looks really nice when you open up the engine bay.

A bit rougher goin over bumps in the road though. One wheel hits it, you feel it all over.

Once a car is lowered the effect of the bar is not as noticable

ON a stock car the ride in cornering is night and day. Once a car is lowered the difference is not as dramatic
