Yeah, after 90k they should be ready for replacement. You should be able to tell -- loss of ride quality/handling, "bouncy" or unstable feel to car on rough roads and at high speeds.
Fronts do wear faster. When I replaced my stock suspension at 110k, the fronts had lost almost all dampening control and were slowly oozing fluid, however that rears looked pretty good.
If you are keeping stock springs I would reccomend KYB GR2's (~ $200) as a good, cos-effective replacement. If you are putting lowering/performance springs consider Tokico (~ $300) or Koni adjustables (~ $440 and slight front modification). If you are not lowering more than 1.5" than you could use the KYB also. For more info on suspension parts, just search --- this is always heavily discussed...
