Need tools

I need to get some tools now that I'm trying to do more work myself and was wondering if anyone has any of these that they really like or particularly recommend

Spring Compressor - This is the only one I am really lost on. There seems to be a few different designs and a LOT of different companies making them. I want a good one, but I won't use it enough to pay a ton of money for it...so a decent one...safe and easy to use but cheap.

Toruqe Wrench - Gotta replace my dad's beam-style one with an accurate one. I can just go buy Craftsman, which I heard are okay, but these things are expensive enough that I wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions.

Jack - ****ing Craftsman one is way too tall to even think about getting under the front of the car. I can put it on boards or on the ramps and then jack it but it's still slow and not high enough and doesn't roll right and too damn heavy. Anyone have a nice low profile aluminum jack that they like? My work area absolutely sucks and I need to move the jack around a lot when I need to use it, so a lighter one would be nice.

Thx.

Yea, I thought about it...but you can get them for relatively cheap and at the rate I'm going I have a feeling I may need it more than once. I might still just rent, but I'd rather just buy one.

craftsman spring compressor $40 and be done.....

My craftsman professional jack does just fine for all my cars I have ever owned. My SER is lower than most maximas on here so it does take some creative ramp work. That's not the jack's fault its the low stance of the car.....

I'll check out the Craftsman spring compressor...always happy to buy Craftsman.

As for the jack, there are def jacks out there that will make it...I just hate to have to bust out the entire ramp + extensions (car won't get on the ramps without extensions) setup when I could do the same thing with just the jack. I probably won't get the jack for a couple months anyway (major $$$ for the ones I've seen) but I'm still curious what people are using.

personally. I use two cheapo $40 jacks and quickly put jackstands under. just in case.

When getting a spring compressor, get a locking one or one with a locking pin on it. Try a harbor freight close to you or check their website.

I have bought 4 different Torque wrenches on EBay at excellent prices! I would try there!
