Cruise Control Broke WHY?

Lights all turn on and I can even hear the solenoid inside the car "click", but the gas pedal doesn't move or speed stay constant.

I've checked around the engine bay to see if anything was obvious like the 2nd cable on the throttle body, but all looks okay.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction to start looking. The ONLY thing I can think of was that I wiped down the engine bay a week earlier, so maybe I knocked something loose and just realized it.

Thanks in advance.

There should be a vacuum line running to the rear of the cruise control component(engine bay), check to see if its plugged in.

yeah behind it there should be a hose on most cars. If its disconnected or loose it wont work.

There's a TSB on the ASCD (cruise) acting weird, but I don't think it covers the cruise being inop. I'll try & dig it up.

my ASCD went crazy for a few weeks, then went back to normal. Til this day, I have no idea what it was. The button activated "cruise" but the "set" wouldn't work at all. And if I left the cruise on for about 5 seconds, the set button would start flashing like crazy. Its been over 3 months and it hasn't acted up.
Does your ASCD do that?

No, it lights up just like normal.

It's almost like nothing is attached to the throttle-body/pedal.

I think I read about YOUR kind of ASCD fault in the FSM, I'll have to check what that means.
