Well, since you are talking so much about Hondas and Acuras, maybe you should get one. Maybe I prefer Nissan, and wish that there's more aftermarket products for us, but I guess that's bad in your mind. Well, if you love Stillen so much that you had to defend them, more power to you. I'm just stating my opinion. If I had the money, I still wouldn't get a Honda/Acura. About showing interest, you're really funny man. I did in fact emailed companies to ask them to show more interest in Nissan, especially Maximas and maybe develop products for us. Maybe it just wasn't pertaining to the products you posted about. However, do I have to email you and tell you that I did that? And post to everyone on the board that I did a great deed? Sorry, but I like to be more subtle. I can't help it if there's not enough people that have interest in doing that. And you being upset because there was nobody to support you in your cause. I understand that, believe me I do. It's frustrating, but I don't go off on someone just because they just stating their opinion. So. just don't go off on me man! Seeing you rant so much, maybe the Maxima isn't right for you.

What do you mean I'm running the wrong series tires and my speedo is way off? I think 225 is the widest I can go with these rims. As far as the speedo being off, please explain.

What does the width of tires have to do with the speedo? If its a 205 or 265 doesnt matter. Its the second number that tells the heighth of the tire. 215/45 will be smaller than a 215/55

I still don't see what the size of my tires have to do with the speedo. Are you telling me that if my speedo say I'm going 60, I'm actually going 65, something like that? Btw, when these current tires wear out, is it possible for me to go up a higher size, let say like 235/40 or 245/40? The tuner shop that help me ordered these rims and tires suggested that 225/40 was the best fit.

Size of the tires does affect speedo readings. The greater the size difference the greater the speedo reading difference. Now "SIZE" means the diameter of the tire from top to bottom. As long as the diameter remains identical to the stock diameter, the speedo readings will also be identical. The trick then becomes matching the tire height (ie "size") with different tire widths and profiles. For example the tire height for a 205/65/15 is roughly equivalent to a 215/60/15... There are several tire charts on the internet that will help with this and even let you change rim sizes to determine proper tire height.

back to the y-pipe disscussion, does anyone have DYNO or TRACK data for the different pipes? Are the 3 y-pipes really similar in preformance dispite their looks?

Frozen bolts

This is a common problem, rust and heat + road grime. At the shop we don't even mess with these guys, cut them off with a torch. If you have some WD 4o, let her soak, vs heating them up and then turning them off, vs cutting them off and replacing them. Also, wash off your pipe before install, there is some oill/grease coating. This is not essential, I just expected it to smoke for the first hour or so. Good luck. Dan WSP

I'll probably be taking pictures during the install.

Okay,

Tires:
Tires are measured this way. The "40" on a 225/40 is a percentage of the width which makes the height (ie 40% of 225). Technically, this is a little different for every tire make, but that it the goal. 40 doesn't mean 40mm in height. A 225/40R18 for a 4th gen Max sounds about right. It might be 1/4" taller, but that within the specs.

Y-pipes:
The Warpspeed Y-pipe is a bit of a ugly duckling, but it looks plenty strong to me. There are only two things that worry me about the pipe. First, it doesn't have the notch or "punch" that clears a random nut tucked up where the Y-pipe comes close to the tranny. The Stillen pipe has a notch and gives about a 1/8th clearance from this nut. Second, the Warpspeed ppipe uses the "sliding" flange to bolt up to the cat. Over time a leak will develop vs a welded flange.

If I was in the market for a pipe I'd probably go with either Warpspeed or Stillen (I've got Stillen's 1999 pipe). Cattman still hasn't sold me on his reliability. He's the only Y-pipe maker I've ever heard of having failures, and a good many at that. Plus his price is a bit high and the materials used isn't quite necessary. My Stillen Y-pipe has held up to two nasty salt covered winters with temps ranging from 0 to 105 degrees. My Y-pipe is bronze in color, but is not rusting. I've lightly sanded a part of the pipe and the shine came right back.
