That nowhere on the car does it advertise how many valves, cams, or cylinders it has. Definately a high class move considering how every cars on the road today has some tacky marking to brag about one of these things.

I can't stand the stickers on the Si that say "DOHC vtec", those are coming off the first nice day this spring.

end of rant.

I think GMs are the worst about that. Some of their cars have badges like:
"ABS"
"Next Generation Airbags"
"Traction Control"
"GTP"

I mean who really cares about any of that?

Exactly, I don't care if they put "Yo Mama" jokes on the backside of the hood. I just don't see a need to have that stuff stuck all over the outside of the car serving as free advertising on a car that I own.

You forgot to add "Fuel Injection" to the list. Why brag about it when it's already used in all modern cars?

Also V6, DOHC VTEC, SmartTrack, 3.1 FI, 2.8 FI, Northstar, AWD, 4WS, 3800 -is that how much is cost? - Kompressor, Supercharged, Turbo, TwinTurbo, quad 4. Why brag with all these badges outside? I think it just makes the car look cluttered.

I do wish Nissan would change the "twincam" on the engine cover to "four cam" or "quad cam" since it technically is a four cam engine. Just to up alittle more bragging rights

It's just GM's way of letting you guys know what you just got waxed by. I guess they think they can make you feel a little better if you read below the GTP and see the key word......SUPERCHARGED. Nothing wrong with a little bragging if you ask me.......if you got it, flaunt it.

True, I would feel pretty bad if I got beat by a regular Gran Prix GT. Please dont let this turn into another GTP vs Max flame war.

I know the GTP is faster than my car. I know the GT isnt.

I just prefer being fast...not looking fast.

Yeah I like that. Some people even go as far to shave their badges. I think it's better to keep people guessing. Keep 'em scratching their heads.

Later,
GTP is model designation...no problem with it being on the car.

About flaunting it...Benz flaunts the V12 badge on the 600s.

Later,
If I have a GTP, I would shave off all the emblems that signal my car is a GTP and supercharged. That way, you'll be a sleeper, and people think your car is slow. Keep them guessing whether it's a GTP or not. Then, burn them.

Btw, the whole GTP vs. Maxima debate was really stupid. I used to have a Pontiac myself. Both cars are really nice. People argued that the Maxima was faster, or the GTP was faster. However, it won't matter because there WILL always be someone faster. Sorry, I'm not trying to bring this subject up again, just stating my opinion.

Out there, the folks shave the badges on their cars, and you don't know whether you're up against a 540i 6-sp or just a 520i.hehe
