I don't no about that, since our engine is a V6{Vertical} it would be impossible{or close to it} to have a drive shaft go out to the rear wheels too. You would probably have to get a different engine/transmission and a million other things, all in all it would cost about 10-20 thousand dollars. Why did'nt you just buy a car with 4wheel drive in the first place?

First, there isnt room under there for all the hardware. Second 99% of the stuff would have to be custom made, since there isnt a factory 4wd version of the chassis. Third, just get an Audi or a WRX. You could easily get one of each for the cost of converting your Max.

Sure, anything can be done if you have enough money. You will likely spend more then what the car was though. Why not just by a 4wd car?

Sure you can!

I've seen it done before - no problem! You just cut off the frame, bolt it onto a bronco and your set to go.

No, wait - that was a mustang, and it looked really stupid...

Just install some 23" wheels, there ya go!

no, wait, that only makes it LOOK like a 4WD!

sure, just get another engine and tranny and install it in the rear. Can you imagine the burnouts you can do with 2 VQ's?

Hmmm?....

oddly enough this was for sale on ebay some time ago, if some guy from Kentucky can do this to a Caddy, a Maxima should be do-able...
If I recall correctly the add stated that it had been restored and that everything worked.

...and as far as putting a second drivetrain in the trunk, I saw a web page once where some company was building Seville STS models with twin drivetrains (2 300HP Northstar engines)

absolutely

You can get a Lincoln hearse, and a Land Cruiser stretch limo, you can sure get a 4wd Maxima. It'll probably have a boss 305 with an Explorer chassis. The leafs will look awkward on the Max. You fellas' parents were probably high school when the famous rabbit on a 928 chassis came out. Back then the style was to put the meat under the hood, wasn't any such thing as rice-a-roni back then.
