Bump. Just want more people to know what kind of company ERIE really is. Family members and myself have also had several other poor service from them.

Their age break is 24 (me) but refuse me (clean record over 3 years, and nothing else against me) but since my MAX is:


"a performance car." (ERIE will not insure me "yet, maybe next year")


No ****. What, I'm supposed to buy a POS that won't cost you anything if I actually need the insurance we all pay you year after year? If you are "young," or ever had any ticket/accident, or nice car, or even if you have a loss from vandalism (how is that your fault?), or not at fault accident, ERIE will refuse you or make you feel grateful and insure you as high risk. If you already have them and any of this occurs, they threaten to drop you and rocket your premiums.

So we need to be perfect drivers to have your insurance? Silly me, I thought we paid all that $$$$ to insuance co. in case something may happen, since it is very possible someday it will?????

I have been searching for insurance with the purchase of my Max. Guess I will stick with Progressive to save money, then next year at 25, I may switch to State Farm. Best service that I've heard about from on this site, and friends.

I am on probation for the second time because I got pulled over for my lights and didnt have insurance so I have to maintain it for 6 months to get that charge off my record, I am going with a cheap second hand company exlusive to the area just to get that charge off. I think its funny watching afternoon television and they have commercial after commercial for lawyers who do nothing but fight the insurance company for you to get your money, basicly, its a "requirement" for you to pay for the rest of your life, unless you are filthy rich, only to have to pay a lawyer to fight them to get the money that should be rightfully yours in the first place, so you get less than what you should cause you have to pay someone else to get it for you, yet over the time that you pay the insurance for coverage they make much more off of you for doing nothing than sending you a little paper claiming you are covered, then you would get if something were to happen for you to file a claim. Ridiculous, but its the law.

 

I have esurance. I pay only 434 for 6 months. You guys should check it out, it has online quotes, www.esurance.com However, I have never file a claim with them so I dunno how their claim service is.

Brooklyn, NY has some of the highest rates, due to all the insurance fraud and theft going on there.

I'm in Staten Island and paying about 1200 for the year for my 2k.. but it's in my fathers name with a clean record and a 98 Maxima under him aswell.

We by far have it worse off than any other state.

Hey i have no choice right now but to live in brooklyn. And i know insurance are high in BK especially now that 4th gens are being stolen like crazy during the pass month.

 

my shopping around has payed off. Cincinati is the best. At 24 yrs old, 50,000/100,000/50,000 covereage, limited tort, FULL GAP coverage, 1000 deductible on new 04 MAX for $1032 a year! I split payments to every 3 months for the same price. (500 ded. cost 200 more.)
Next year at 25, I'll pay $650 year!!!! if I stay good and all insur. doesn't skyrocket again like this year.

ERIE may have been cheaper, but they wouldn't insure my "Performance" vehicle until maybe next year. Well they lost my business and other family members. They usually drop you after one incident anyway or always skyrocket your premium for any claim.
