vanadlism anyone?

I came home from the bar tonight and walked passed my car that was parked out front of my house all night, and found a long, deep scratch all the way across my driver's side door panels. it went all the way across the front fender to the hood, where I found an even bigger surprise.

"FU*K U" etched in my hood. deep enough that whoever did it left paint shavings all over the hood.

I'm still in shock I think, so the anger hasn't set in yet. I'll be really pissed tomorrow morning.

do I go to the cops about this? I don't know what the hell to do. I have an idea of who it could have been, but I have no proof at all. sigh.

my insurance is through the roof. I'm on assigned risk because I'm under 21 and I've been in a major accident. I'm paying almost $6000 a year for liability only. it's ridiculous.

I'm almost afraid to let any authorities know about this because if my insurance company gets wind of it they might drop me. it's all so god damn childish.

I remember a while back, the same thing happened to an org member, only WORSE.

He came out of the gym and his car was destroyed. Glass was broken, curses carved into the paint everywhere and his interior torn up.

I would go to the cops. Man that sucks. I hope everything works ouy for you.

Under 21 & @ a bar?

Good luck with the vandalism.

Since your insurance is already outrageous I would go aroundto local paint/body shops for some quotes....I can't imagine that flat one piece hood would be that expensive.

If you don't have comprehensive coverage, your insurance will not be able to help you.
Take pictures and call the cops ASAP, they might be able to lift some prints off the hood.... this should not affect your insurance. You did not do anything...

Sorry man, I know how it feels. 2 years ago I was parked in Chicago next to Moody's Bible school and Seniour Citizen's highrise .... and had my passenger windows broken. They stole 75 cents and radar power cable....idiots. They thought my cd changer was in the glovebox, a$$holes. So I had to drive hillbilly style with plastic on for several days, untill I found a window...

f'in haters. this stuff worries me.
I never had any enemies, that i knew of: in college 2 days left on campus until i never had to return and someone slashed all 4 brand new tires of my last car. Just got it repaired with the new rims and tires before it broke down.
I think it was the "ex" boyfriend of a girl i was "seeing." A month later, same thing happened to my cousin.
I'd rather have an ol' fashioned fight, scar me,but please not my car. That's just cowardice and evil.

The cops noticed it and woke me up to tell me, did nothing about it. Tried to act tough to another kid that might of did it.

If you have an inclination, it was probably them. Taking the time to carve F... U is very personal.
Woop their ***.

...or their car's ***; an eye for an eye.

I know it's just a car but the thought of anyone hurting my car makes my blood boil as though they hit my sister. I'd have no compunction with some vigilantism if I caught them or had proof they did it.

well, I went to the police about it. the cop that came by my house took a good look at it and took down some information from me, and asked the usual questions (pretty much the same questions you all asked me in this thread, heh).

he told me that a report is available at the precinct if I decide to go to insurance with it, but he advised me not to bother, since my deductable is about a grand. it'll probably be cheaper to repaint everything. I have a friend of the family that owns a body shop that I get any body work done at, so I'll see if he can cut me a deal when I stop by there tomorrow afternoon for an estimate.

after I got done being angry about it this morning, I decided that I'm just as much of a ***** as the kid who did this to my car if I decide to get vigilante revenge. it's not worth risking getting caught. besides, if I do anything to anyone else's car, I could be solidly accused because I'd have motive. it's just not worth it.

I want my car to be fixed, and I want it overwith...
aside from my girlfriend, my car is my life. I feel like I've been punched in the stomach. sucks, but what can I do other than fix it and move on, you know?

You know something? That's just *** **** stupid. I have no clue why people do stuff like that.

In over 6 yrs of owning a 98 SE, the only things that have happened were a nasty ding on one door (like a utility truck or something hit the rear door), a little hit and run action by the left-rear wheel well, someone laid a 1/2" plywood against the rear bumper (wtf that was weird), and all 4 aluminum valve stem caps were taken. But I guess none of the above were really vandalism.

Just get your car fixed and forget it, don't waste your time trying to figure out why someone is an ****ole. Good luck!

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully they will one day get t-boned by a 18 wheeler and come out with brain damage.

The only positive I can add, is that this may be a chance for you to have a fresh new coat of paint free of rock chips, etc.

yeah, u did the best thing. insur. not worth it with a high deductible. Nice having family, huh? My cousin has done a lot of body work on my last car. Keeping the anger and dwelling on the nightmare would only mess with u and your girl.
Sucks to have a nice car and to drive nice and legally until you get your insurance down. Check out Progressive, they prefer young drivers. They overlook 1 ticket and usually 2.
good luck with everything.
