September 11th National Track Meet (Beech Bend Kentucky)

Beech Bend Schedule:
http://www.beechbend.com/Drag%20Schedule.htm

Credit 96 Sleeper:

okay guys. I spoke with Dallas Jones who is the owner of Beech Bend. The next open Saturday is September 11th. To have a saturday event, here is how the cost breaks down. $1500 minimum for track rental. $60/hour for ambulance /EMT, $163 insurance fee, and if we want to have the track officials work the track for us it is $10 an hour per person and he said about 6-7 people is normal. So this looks like for a Saturday event from ? (guess) (9am - 3pm) the cost would be around $1500(track) + $360(EMT) + $163(insurance) + $360(workers) = $2383 + any other surprise costs. He said if we want to have some people help and run the track then it will be cheaper on labor. If we want this date then it is $200 down payment and we can pay the rest on the day of the event. Figuring $2500 then it would be around $50 a piece for 50 people. If we could get around 100 people then we could get it down to $25 a person which seems very reasonable for a complete track rental for 6 hours. Let me know what guys think, and I will get back to him. If we want this date we need to act quickly so he can get me the contract and we can send him $200 dollars to reserve it. We don't have to limit this to maximas either, if we want to invite others to help out on cost then it is fine. Feedback please.

So looks like Sept 11th is the date this needs to be held considering its the closest day possible to rent the track.

This thread is for definate answers from people who no doubt plan on coming unless something uncontrollable comes up. Everyone will need to make a deposit for the guy heading this will not get screwed if people decide not to show. Depending on the total interest will be the amount needed for each member to deposit. It will probably be around $50 per driver and I was thinking maybe $10 spectator fee for those wanting to come and watch.

AGAIN POST ONLY IF YOU ARE 100% WILLING TO MAKE A DEPOSIT AND ATTEND

Well, not good so far. We might just have to meet up on a saturday night for test and tune and pay $10 for 3 runs. It would still be cool I guess. Any date on the schedule would work.

I'd be there. Also I think we should clone this thread and make it a non-sticky. I don't know about other people but honestly I don't look at the stickies at all unless there is something specific I'm looking for. I skip right over them.

Beech Bend…that’s in Bowling Green right?

I might be interested as a spectator, depends on how many people actually show up.

LINK TO MEET WEB PAGE & SIGN IN

Comments, suggestions?

Once we get this perfect how we want it, I will post & have stickied on NICO and I imagine we get a large response from them as well.

One thing I added that you all should check out, is I put on there that extra money made from the 30/10$ prices would be recycled back as prize money to winners of "divisions" ... good / bad idea?

if your name isnt listed etc, email me from that page.

Thanks for stepping up Hal. That is exactly what we need if were are going to be having a bunch of different forums in on this. I say give it another week and if it looks like we will have at least 40 people or so then send in the deposit.

**edit** I think the price needs to change to $50 to run. That is more realsitic.

no prob, i'd love to see this thing succeed!

also should we start one more thread on the org called MAXUS 2004 and lock the others.. so we have 1 source of info everyone is going to? The name MAXUS used on the org seems to draw lots of attention, and that is basically what this is, is it not?

Thanks Hal! I'm going to link this to my Kansas City Maxima/Nissan sites. I can probably get 5 Maximas, a G35, 3 SE-Rs, 2 300ZXTTs, and 3 350Zs and possibly more.

I guess that means the site is a go!

I am going to create a MAXUS 2004 post in the general section and request these others be locked... unless anyone objects?

I'll get it posted on nico tonight.
