Replaced 02 sensor, still have a code?!?!?!

Replaced 02 sensor, still have a code?!?!?!

I just replaced my front left 02 sensor today. I bought the OE one with the harness and all. I reset the ECU and drove around for a little while. SO i decided to check the ECU and make sure i got an 0505, well i didnt, code is still there?? does it just need some more time to clear out or...um?????? any help guys, thanks

He said he DIDN'T get a 0505 code! Did you replace the right one? The right one is by the firewall and the left one is up front.

and im OBD-I my autozone cant scan OBD-I..but one of my friends just got the new MAC co. scanner, with live data stream etc. etc. if we hook it up to that , it shows 02 sensor readings, so i guess if i get a reading im ok.

i hate it when people post a reply without reading too.



autozone sells scanner guns which i think are returnable. You can borrow it real quick and return it after properly reading the code. Also are u sure u checked the right one? When i got a code for 02 sensor, i resetted it and it didnt come back but i changed my 02 sensor anyway in fear of it almost going or me losing any type of gas mileage. Till this day it never came on. I think it should automatically do it cause once ecu is reset it doesnt put a code unless it doesnt see it there and a new one should automatically register. Codes should not take time to adjust. Either its there or its not.
