I'm going to be buying a 2002 Maxima M6 in about a month. I was just curious what type of gas milage I should be expecting if I don't beat on the poor thing on a regular basis. I'm finally getting rid of my Z28 and am looking forward to the 3.5. Anything will be an improvement. Thanks in advance for your time.

I can't speak to the car you are looking at, but in my '95 SE (5-speed) I get
26.5 to 30.5 US gallon equivalent on the highway at say 70 or 75 mph, on average probably 28 mpg. In the city I get about 18.5 to 20. Obviously if you drive the car like you stole it your gas mileage will be indicative.

 

Thanks for the info. I work at a Nissan dealership here in Tampa and I've seen the window sticker's rating. Just wasn't sure how true to life that was.

 

I get about 22-24 in the city & 26-30 on the HWY in my '02. I don't beat on it that much at all. The sticker is pretty accurate.
