Maybe track prepping your car isn't needed...went to the track yesterday
My typical track "setup" is as follows:
-No spare or jack
-fronts to 26 psi, rears to 42 psi
-Koni fronts to max
(all runs on Kosei K1 16s with 215/55 Yoko Avid V4s)
Yesterday I ran my car at the track. Weather was decent with the humidity being a little high (60+%) and some sprinkles. With my setup, I ran two 14.7s and one 14.8. All runs at or near 94mph with high 2.2 60 foots. I decided to experiment and see what my car runs like on the street. I adjusted the Koni's to medium, put the tires back to normal 32F/31R, and put my track box in the trunk (~30lbs). My engine was pretty hot because we had to sit in line for a while as they pulled a car out of the trees (brakes failed). I roll up to the line, launch at 3400 rpms, and all goes well. I get my timeslip and it says 14.81@93.67mph. Hmmmmmm.....maybe all this prepping is just in my head
Highlighs at the track yesterday. Hybusha (sp) 1300cc motorcycle running 9.6s@148mph BONESTOCK!!!! C5 Z06 running 13.2 stock and smoking the tires thru 1st and some of 2nd. 3 of my Contour SVT friends showed up. They were mostly in the mid 15 second range at 89mph, but one guy went 15.1@93mph with a pretty decent 60 foot. And two early 90s 5 speed 5.0s getting walked by yours truely
(14.7s@94 vs 15.1s@92).

Walking domestics.. Nice.. =) Make them think twice before messing with these family sedans.. =) How does the 32/31 ride on the street? I run 32/29 usually. You think 32/31 makes the car handle better? I have the AVID V4s too.

The ride is fairly stiff. Since my rims are a wide 7.5", I decided to try out 29 in the front and 28 in the rear in an attempt to increase steering response. The ride is a bit better, feel is increased a bit, handling seems to be the same, and it's not bouncy. Since the max cold psi is 35 for the Avid V4s, I think running 29 psi shouldn't be too bad especially on a relatively light sedan.
With the 32/31 setup, the car handles really good, but feels a bit "darty" and loose.
