im buying a seadoo watercraft soon and i was wondering if i would have any problems towing it or putting the boat in the water. it weighs about 700 lbs. Any one out there tow stuff?????

 

well the 4th gen has a max towing capacity of 1k lbs according to edmunds.com

therefore im guessing an early 5th gen like urs is not gonna have a problem showing off that watercraft on the streets

 

You shouldn't have any problems but if I were you, I'd install a tranny cooler anyway.

i wouldn't worry about towing it, i would just try to stay away from steep ramps if there are major tides so the ramp could be wet

 

Good point about the steep ramps, plus i have a 5-speed so im not too worried about a tranny cooler. THanks for the reply's guys

 

I towed 2000 lbs with it and the engine and automatic tranny did great. It should do even better with a 5sp.

The only difference I noticed with 2000 lbs was that I needed longer stopping distance. I was much more conscious about stopping distance so I didn't have a problem.

Well, the manual for my Maxima says that it can tow 1200kg load (on a breaked trailer, and includes the trailers weight). Thats 2650lb's. Unbraked is 700kg or 1550lbs. Beats me as to why the specifiactions for the US Maxima says it can only tow 1000lb's.
