Sunroof Open/Close Problems

I have been having problems with opening and closing my sunroof. The motor still works, kinda. It needs some manual help to push the sunroof open or closed. It sounds like its gonna be quite an extensive job to either have the motor(s) replaced or the tracks the sunroof glides on looked at and fixed. What kind of work in involved with this type of job and what kind of money should I expect to pay have it done?

I'm driving a '97 Maxima SE. Thanks for your help!

How's it going

Hey how's it going?? Like you i had the same problem with my sunroof. I have a 96 Maxima and a couple of months ago i messed up the sliding interior for the sunroof, soonafter it wouldn't close so i was getting hit with mad heat from the sun. Anyhow i finally did it by yanking out the sliding interior only to now find out that the sunroof won't close all the way. I took it to a mechanic and he said it will cost me $300 bucks to get new tracks cause from all the tugging i did i must of broken one of them. However he disable the sunroof and closed it completely it so when it rains it won't leak like i experienced(****ed off i was). The guy fixed that part for me for $60 and i'm good for now but when i have more cash i will get it done. Let me know how it goes for you.... Later
