Would it be wierd to have two maximas?

So my wife has a 2k GLE.........for next my car I was going to get a 02 SE..(prefer majestic blue) would that be wierd? I guess I felt like if I get another car it should be something different....like a i30/i35 or something which is ironically also very similiar.....(I really would want a G x but thats a whole other story).
..........am I just strange??

I have a 99 SE and a 90 SE.

Weird No. Dumb Yes. I own them both. I want to sell the older one and have a nice downpayment for a wave runner or something.

If you and ur wife owned one each nothing weird about that.
Also if you have one for recreation and a daily driver nothing wrong with that either. I just said its dumb in my instance.....I just cant seem to let her go.

This of course is all just my opinion and there would be nothing wrong or weird about owning 10 maximas if thats what YOU wanted. Do what YOU want.

Now that's what I call a Maxima family! Nissan should use you guys in a commercial. What better advertisement than a family having 4 Maxes in the same driveway!

And if you trade in one of your 'newer' ones for something like an 02, then you will have the 3rd through 5th gens covered!

When I lived with my brother, I had an 85 SE and he had an 89 SE. then I moved back to my parents I had the 85, my Dad had an 94 SE and my Mom had a (*sigh*) Mazda 626, which she then replaced with a 96 GLE When I moved out. Up until 3 months ago my wife had a 96 and I had a 98 until I bought my 03 and she bought an Odyssey. It's not that weird at all, I thought it was nice because I could buy oil and filters in bulk.

It would just be weird if you got the 2k2, and your wife took it from you and gave you her 2k.

I think it's cool. Maximas are fantastic cars. I have owned two 92 VE 5-speeds (not at the same time). My step mom and aunt both bought Maximas (4th gens) after riding in my first one and so did my brother (3rd gen). I also convinced a friend to buy one and he bought a 5th gen.

but personally, I like to have two rigs that can accomplish different tasks.

I have my Max, plus we have an Infiniti QX4. The latter is better to take out in the woods, go camping, fishing, hunting and we can pack more stuff in it and on the roof rack. With the seats down, it hauls quite a bit of stuff, too. I have put a rototiller, lawnmower, dining room table, sets of tires and wheels, firewood, a couple of bikes and some other stuff that's impossible to fit in the Max.

If you have a 3rd rig (like an SUV or pickup truck) then a second max is way cool. Otherwise, you will be borrowing/renting a truck every time you need something moved or hauled away.

Just my .02 cents. You do what you want.

That was pretty weird, Conrad, that you have three different gen of Maxima. a 4th, 5th and a 6th!!! that surprises me that they are all the same color. you got Triplets!!!

If the I30 counts, we got a 99 max and 2000 I30 in the garage. Max is mine obviously. Maybe one day the I30 will be missing the VI and the max will gain some top end ..... wonder if they'd notice.

I have a 4g Max and an I30..

both were close to identical when I first purchased them: leather, auto, SE/T, sunroof etc

honestly, I'd rather have some variety
:looks to lexus:

This is what I mean........I think variety is nice.......but then again a 2k2 is different from a 2k.....the 3.5 alone is huge...

Now of course being on the maxima board i am not suprised with the opinions...
Has the theft rate of the hids on the 2k2-2k3 died down? Thats one thing that is keeping me away from getting one.......I would be so nervous...

Then again its not really bad in baltimore.......and beside we could always take the 2k up to brooklyn.......

I like the Altima...but I still think the maxima is just more upscale..

Thanks for the opinions......

I bought a 96 to replace my wifes 91, with the intention of selling the 91 and paying off my truck. After driving her 91 for a couple of weeks, I parked the truck. We will now have two for the forseable future. Maximas are great cars
