Differences within DE-K Manifolds?
So I go look up 2000-2001 Intake manifolds on car-part.com and come up with a whole bunch of options for 2000. For 2001 there is only a upper or lower choice which is obvious. For 2000 there are 4 uppers which has really got me wondering. Anyone know what the differences are between these manifolds?
Well, there is the upper and the lower. That's it no other differences. Even the 5th gen has upper and lower manifolds, 2 lower and one upper. Of course you don't want the one for a CALI spec if your car isn't cali spec. They have swich valves on the 4th gen and the 5th gen might have something like that too.
I think what you are seeing is the additional manifold for the 4th gen that was available through 6/99. Not sure why that would pop up for a 2000 vehicle, but we do know that the 99.5 (mostly SE-L's) shares the same pre-cat setup, chip, and other stuff with the 2k. So maybe the system also thinks they share a manifold before 6/99? Regardless, the DE-K manifold would be for after 7/99.

It appears there's an early model and a late model, then each of those come in cali spec or non cali spec. Krismax may know the differences from cali to non cali, but they must have changed the manifold design shortly after production. I'm guessing the later model one is probably the best design (if there are any significant differences). The later model with cali specs is interchangeable with the 2001 too. I'm thinking a pre 7/99 non cali specs may fit the 4th gens best with any luck. I just want to know:
What are the differences in the upper with cali specs?
What are the differences in pre 6/99 manufactured versions.

Ahh, OK thanks. I suppose mine is totally different being a 99. Sounds to me like the non-cali spec is for sure what I should try for (2000 manifold). Any idea what the differences are between pre and post 6/99 manifolds?
when i replaced my upper IM, nissan only had one part number for it.
best bet would be to call daveb and ask to see if there is actually fed and cali spec IM's. Although I don't think there is much of a difference.

Does anybody know the spec on the VQ30DET Manifold out of the Cima and Glorida? I can't find any spec about it like if is a Variable intake or what. I was thinking it might be better for the guy's with F/I on there max since the engine is a turbo motor.
