Those look used. Damn, they've been out for a short time and they already burnt off the shiny coating? Lucky bastard, unlucky about the car though.

Nice man! Installing that rear header should be a walk in the park in your case.

Is your car still driveable? What all changes are you making when you pull the engine? Are you replacing your engine, or rebuilding it?

That's how the 2nd batch is sold now....

i thought you were going to swap a engine or something. i was hoping for a pic of a vq35. but still, headers are cool but pricey.

Who cares about the chrome look. As long as it makes you faster!
Let me know who the tech is who does your build. I might just need him this winter.

If anything was to "burn off" first, it would be the hottest part of the exhaust, which is the headers.

Since you have the motor out this would be a good time to install new stuff like, cams, water pump, front+rear oil seals, clutch, drive axle oil seals, plugs, fuel filter.

Yhea, the car is still kind of driveable. I am just using it to get back and forth to work, which is less than a mile. The idle is really bad and the ticking of the valves is terrible.

I am replacing the motor with one from a 97 max. 74K miles, which is less miles than the car had when I bought it.

No changes to the motor, just gonna do the headers while the it's out of the car.

Yhea, I got the auto motor. I've had the thing for over a week now. Just waiting on the guy to install it for me. With everyday that passes I just want to do it myself. It's a time issue more than anything as to why I am not doing it myself. I also don't feel 100% sure of my abilities to do it myself and there is no local max owner who I know that has done a motor swap who could help.

I better see some 100mph traps. When I hit the track this fall I will have installed the headers, PF TB, and cat-back since the last time out. I will also have drag radials (sold my slicks). I am shooting for 13.7-13.8 @ 101ish

True, but the clutch and tranny are only 1yr old. Plugs, fuel filter..etc are all comming from my old motor which I have kept up with religously. I would only do cams if I was going with some JWT's and this is costing me enough money already.

What does suck is that I just replaced my water pump on my old motor two months ago.

i envy you. I want headers. but I plan on doing a motor this winter. I should hopefully be buying with about 80k on it soon.

Can't wait for the motor to get back in so we can see the I30 run some 13's n/a.
