Replacing slave cylinder for clutch

Ok, so here's the thing I need help with... I'm replacing the slave cylinder in my Max, and also the hose that connects to it, and the hose running down from the master cylinder that connects to the other hose. My problem is this... I've got everything out now except the hose that runs down from the master. It seems to have a clamp that I have to pop out to get the rubber hose to disconnect, but there is a nut you have to turn to loosen up to be able to get the clamp off. It won't loosen at all. Everytime I put some muscle into it, it feels like the wrench is slipping and I don't want to round it off. Any suggestions on how to get this thing to loosen up so I can finish this damn job? I've tried turning it tight to see if it would tighten a little to maybe help it loosen, but it won't budge either way. I need to get this thing off, cuz I didn't want a simple job like this to turn into an all day thing. Someone help me!

use a flare nut wrench- they're made specifically for removing those fittings on brake and hydraulic lines.
you can pick them up for about $5 at any parts store or sears..
the one on my car is a 10mm- I'm pretty sure yours is too.

Yep. The secret to being able to work on your car and actually enjoy it is to have the right tool.

Thanks guys... I actually figured out what I needed to get it off right before I read your replys. Now I'm just waiting on my friend to come get me to take me downtown to get a 10mm flare nut wrench.

Be glad you have friends that will take you!
fortunately, I used to have a sears 3/4 mile from the house, so I'd just hop on the bicycle and cruise over there.
it was fun riding home one day with 20lb of tools strapped to my back.

Haha, yeah, that would suck to have to lug all those tools home on your bike. And yeah, I'm lucky my best friend lives just down the road about 3 blocks from my dads house (where are I work on my car cuz he's got all the tools.) Too bad he's downtown so I gotta wait for him to get back.

I just use a vice gripes from the get go. I've tried to use flare wrenches. They work okay IF you haven't rounded off the head already.
