Ok guys first off lets say I want to throw a supercharger on a 1997 maxima (good idea ehh). I dont want the stock pulley I wanna run this baby at aroud 8-10psi. What size pulley should I ask stillen to ship with the supercharger and how much is this gonna cost me. Those of you with a smaller pulley I want you feed back as to your current 0-60, and 1/4 mile times please.

you can get the 3.25 pulley... 1/4 mile times is going to be dependent on how good a driver you are.. and what other mods you have and what you have in your trunk..

some stock pulley ppl can't break out of 14's... SLeeper aka Delos runs 13.3 on stock pulley

sounds like a good idea..a few things.. i don't believe stillen will ship the s/c with a different pulley.. however you can have votec ship you a diff one for about 75$ and then either you or your mechanic swaps it.. however by changing pullies you void your warrenty.. with that being said.. go 3.25 or so.. thats good for around 10.5opsi

You can get it online from Vortech, don't think Stillen will sell you one cause they advise against changing the pulley.

Why not go with the 2.62" pulley its only $2 more and you'll get way more power. Sounds like a good performance/power ratio to me. $2 for 40 extra HP. That's 20 hp per dollar.

Yeah and you will blow your engine up in no time! Not to mention the maxes stock fuel injectors will not be able to keep up with the air/fuel ratio.

I don't think anyone has tried. So we can't say this will happen for sure. The 2.62 pulley is only ~$2 more. Don't forget about the chip to upgrade the fuel controller. I think the extra power is well worth the risk.

BTW isn't power everything. The more you have the faster it will go.

Nah. That's just more money than care to spend on my car. I like the car as it is now, quiet with noise and power on demand. If I want a fast car then I'll buy a fast car. I made a mistake with my first max by trying to make it in to something it's not. Wasting all that money in mods trying to make if quicker and quicker. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have a SC on my, but I'd rather spend that money on getting a new max or a 02 Altima V6. Then I start over and have an even better ride. And the third time modding a VQ will be the charm.

That's just me.

What is the fuel controller thing you are talking about. Also where can you pick up some bigger fuel injectors. The lowest I would go is 3.26 get into the 2's and I say you'll blow your engine.

fyi

stillen is against this because the standard pulley size, takes the mafs to its limit. and the chip is designed to only read that. they have tested smaller pulleys. to do it right, you will have to get a higher flow mafs, and then get a chip from jwt. there is a different size diaphram that can be installed in the fuel mangement to compensate for more air flow. if you have a 95 you can do it. i think the guy with the i30 thats been modified at jwt and stillen, had that stuff done. talk to him about it.

I decided to go with a 3.48 pully, I think is will give me a little more power but keep things in check. I would think about going with a smaller pully, say 3.25, but only if I had a intercooler.

Kev, I think Phil has a 2.89 pully and a 40 shot of nitrous to boot. Just a educated guess though, I am probably wrong but someone has to prove it! Hehe
