Pontiac Aztek is turning out to be a major flop!!!!

Gee, who would have seen this coming. The sales of the Aztek for it's 6 week selling period is a whopping 3000 units (800 units went to rental companies) !!!!!! According to the guys at gpowners.com, Pontiac is begging employees to buy and advertize Azteks. D/C sold 50000 PT Cruisers in the first 8 weeks of production if you need a reference.
My question:
Didn't Pontiac do a consumer survey on the looks of this hideous beast?
I guess it wouldn't be too bad of a car/truck if they opened the wheelwells, added independant rear suspension, added much larger wheels and tires, fixed the cheesy Pontiac interior, and gave the Aztek a new nose.

Gack! that thing is the UGLIEST car/truck/beast I've ever seen. it puts the Toyota Echo to shame!
Whoever was in charge on this one deserves to be chained to the front bumper of an Aztec and dragged down the street backwards (this way he can see himself being killed by the ugly beast that ruined his career).

Duh! What did you expect the most hideous vehicle ever built (except the Chevy El Camino, of course) to do, sell out?
I just read Car and Driver's review of it, and they said it was pretty good, not because of performance, but rather versatility.
However, if Pontiac is going to build a car for cool people, it has to look cool, not like it's been in a wreck.

Well I am starting to see one reason why I will never buy a GTP. I'm starting to see a trend in Pontiacs designers, first with the Sunfire, then the Bonneville, now the Aztec, the Grand Prix is due next, I wonder how "Arrowheaded" they will design it. One thing for sure, Pontiac's gonna definitely be losing some money on this one.

I ask all of you. How often do you say to yourself
"What I need is a suv minivan with a tent in the back. Yah and make it really really ugly too... Oh ya add lots of plastic."
Typical Pontiac. Thanks but I'll take my dip and Grand am instead.
Who's to say that Ruffles should be the only one with ridges!

I remember when the Aztek was first debuted people were raving about it. . . I don't see why. I think all the ones sold were ones that were preordered or something. . . First car that I have seen where the pictures look a lot better than the actual car. I still thought it was ugly in pictures, but when I saw it in person, it caused a gag reflex. I can't picture anyone voluntarily buying this car for it's looks. And with Pontiac's history of reliability, I don't think many will be buying this period.

Gee, what a suprise
I saw the Aztek when I went to the car show last year, and I was shocked that
1)They even bothered to build a concept vehicle
2)Pontiac actually displayed that monstrosity on a turntable, in front of thousands of people
3)They turned it into a mass production vehicle!
According to Pontiac, the Aztek's styling is only for those who "get it". Well, apparently no one gets it (except for the tasteless and the very stupid of course)
Unlike the VehiCROSS, the Aztek has no redeeming factors that saves it from being a complete and utter POS. The VehiCROSS at least as a good 4wd, smooth powerful engine and RECAROS! The Aztek has some vinyl seats, a front compartment that doubles as a cooler (WTF is that?!) and a worthless OHV 3.4liter hunk of scrap metal under the hood. UGH! If I want a spacious car for 25k I'll get a Passat wagon or A4 Avant, thank you.
