Opinions on Wideband o2 sensor

Looking to go the tune-it-yourself route, especially since I'm having trouble finding any dynos.

I'll probably be getting the S-AFCII for a/f adjustment; now I just need something to ac****tely measure my a/f ratio. I've thought about the Innovative Motorsports LM-1, PLX M-500, and the Zeitronix Zt-2.

Import tuner did a comparo a few months back, but I'm looking for input from you guys. I would really like to have something that datalogs cause I don't really want to drive at a certain rpm, remember what the a/f was, stop and adjust, and then repeat for the next rpm.

have you tried asking in the nitrous and FI forums... you will get a much better response there from folks who actually know what they are talking about. the general forum is basically the ricer wing and stupid taillights forum... i just flip through it real quickly to see if there are any actual technical threads that somehow got misplaced. anyhow I know some DSM guys running the LM-1 but I have never talked to them in depth about it so i don't have any firsthand or secondhand knowledge or advice to offer

nitrous forum doesn't get nearly as much action as the general forums. I'll give both forced induction forums a try

I've been using the Innovate LM-1 for half a year. I datalog afr, rpm, manifold pressure, fuel pressure, maf voltage and throttle position.

I've had a few minor problems with it related to how the system is grounded (it seems to work best not being grounded at all), but otherwise I have no complaints and think it is money well spent for boosted or nitrous applications. Customer support is very good.

I like StephenMax's tool, but I opted to get the TechEdge kit because it initially seemed like it would give me more things to log data with. But both units are good and used heavily in the boosted/nitrous world to tune on track.

All boils down to is price.

Just to make your decision harder, I'm looking at the Zeitronix.

How important is it to have datalogging? Do you guys who don't datalog have a hard time tuning through the whole rpm range? Does it just take longer?

I would suggest data logging. It can really come in handy for tuning and trouble shooting.

I think the problem with datalogging on our cars is that the 4th gen ecu is a slow ecu and it only spits out data about once a second so datalogging doesn't work as well.

Just found out the wife is getting a laptop, so datalogging is looking feasible at this point. And after installing the headers this weekend, replacing the o2 sensor is small change. It'll be comforting to check the a/f ratio all motor vs spraying. Then there's the opportunity to get a little faster by tuning closer to 13.5 or 14.0 a/f....
