Something I noticed tonight and it happened once before is that when I redline in 1st and shift to second, it doesn't seem to grab anymore, it kind of sits there once I let out the clutch and the rpms go down to about 5,000 and then it grabs. I can't seem to get enough torque to even get a scratch. I embarresed myself twice racing a Type-R, I was even with it in first and once I hit second it's like the car just died until it seemed to grab again? Is that a sign of a slipping clutch or is it something worse? My Centerforce Dual Friction is sitting right here on my desk waiting to go in, but I was just curious as to the common symtoms to a bad clutch.

When your Clutch is slipping the RPM'S will rise up really fast then go back down. My Clutch bit the dust today{85% gone), I can still drive my car but not for much longer, luckely I happen to have a Centerforce Clutch sitting on my Desk too.

I'm at 41,000 miles on my car. I have the Centerforce Dual Friction and the color of it is Duke's of Hazard Orange.

I'm curious on how you guys go thru clutches so quickly? Do you slip them a lot on launch or something? I've got 65000 miles and my clutch has still got a ton of life and never slipped after 35+ 1/4 mile passes.

Easy, the SC put a tone of Strain on it. My I30 has 43K miles and the Clutch was as good as new a few weeks ago, but as soon as Super Charged my car the Clutch turned to moosh.

Turbo95Max, Sorry it is actually 88% gone now. No really it is just a guesstament. If I push on the gas pedal more then like 1/2 way the RPM's rise up and the car does not move. I had to replace my Clutch on my 95 max and now that when it starts slipping this bad that it is on it's way out and soon, maybe today!, I will just have to go out and see. LOL

The first clutch went out on my car at around 60K. . . The next one went out at ~80K, only about a year and a half later, damn dealership when they replaced it the first time somehow put a warped flywheel back in the car, and it caused the clutch to fail prematurely. It wasn't from hard driving either because I had just got the car a month before it went out from my mom. . . At least she felt partially responsible and paid for half of it. . . That was lucky.
