vq30 and ve engines and crankshaft/camshaft position sensor recall

I finally fixed my car which was stalling and having starting issues. Turns out my camshaft position sensor was not working correctly. Our longtime friend Chebosto pointed out that crankshaft and camshaft position sensors may be recalled for 3.5 engines. However, I've noticed lots of posts from vq30 and ve members having the same issues. Would anybody like to lead a campaign to have those engines covered by this recall?

Yo Thurz. VE only used one sensor to monitor the crank/cam position. No problems from what I've read here. It's on the front bank's exahust cam.

VG30s had a dist, plugs and one coil. So no crank/cam sensor other than what the distributor does.

I hardly ever see a vq motor with a cam or crank position sensor issue.

I am one with a VQ who is suspecting that I have a cam or crank position sensor issue, will find out soon enough if that is really the culprit.

That's what I thought too, but why would local dealerships have them in stock? I called several dealerships and they all had a few.
Since there doesn't seem to be an overwhelming interest, I'll drop this and let members fend for themselves. I'm happy w/how Nissan is handling my issue.

Good luck getting Nissan to recall an engine that they haven't sold in the U.S in the past decade.
