service engine light soon, did i messed pops car up.?.?.?.? long and short version

short: did getto intake mod (bv's) night worked fine took it off... morning put it on left maff unplugged... stall.. pluged in... didn't stall but had a service engine soon light...

q's: sevice engine is oil change or is it "your car is messed up bring it to the dealer"???

long:

I got his car so I could wash/wax/vac and other junk to it in the morning. I got bored (1st day of spring break) so I bought a cone filter and taped the thing on for the night. (half a roll of duct tape) took it off that night.(no light yet) woke up about 8 washed it waxed it shampoo the carpets... got bored wating for the carpets to dry put the intake back on left the maff sensor off...(forgot) turned it on stall again stall... plugged maff back in car turned on but with the sevice engine soon light... dunno if it was there b-4 but err did starting it w/o maff in mess it up?? would the check engine light turn on or sevice if I messed somthing up???


so sad hope he'll let me take it out for the rest of spring break... im not handing back the keys till that light is gone so please help i don't want to keep saying "i'll look for the keys a little later..."

just thought of sumthing... does that light come on near 40K miles???? cuz its like 39,XXX right now...

Haha

It's no problem at all, the light went on because you left the Sensor dissconected. Just reconnect it and clear your ECU code and you will be all set.

how would i got about doing this??? disconnect batt??? I gotta do this b-4 my dad gets home from where ever he went...
