How do i do this??? I neeed to know im going to be so screwed if my dad sees the check engine light...

I had it off for 2 hours... then i asked my freind and he said to do somthing like this http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~cchiu1/images/reset.gif and i dunno where this box looking thing is to do it so how long is while to reset the ecu?

Its on the driver footwell on the right side. Remove the panel (its held on by snap off screws) and look for a metal box with a sticker on it. Poke through the sticker and follow the directions. BTW, I have a feeling that you are sooo screwed.

why exactly is your check engine light on, there maybe a problem if it came on.

back again what thing do i pull on? it looks like i'd have to take aaprat the whole dash.... i pulled on sumthing and it wont go back in... this is not a good thing...

the repeat what the nice people said im sooooo screwed

it came on cuz i pulled the maf off and started the car... i forgot the put it back on b-4 i turned it on

and it says "service engine soon" not check engine just to clear it up... still can't see anything to pull...

thanks a mill i was pulling on the tan stuff hahaha good thing i got a cramp and didn't pull super hard

if anyone that knows this stuff could im me HJDFHBGKJHWDUGBK thats my aim name again to repeat what the nice people said "i'm sooo screwed"

yeah!!!!! the org rocks i love the org but i really love the ones named medicsonic and emax95 lights off and im all cramped up cuz im to fat/tall the fit under the steering wheel....

if we weren't in the middle of an econimic slow down i would send you 2 a donut or sumthin but im not cuz i broke kis thats not screwed anymore

i talked to soon ima call up nissan and see whats up cuz this is wierd i reset it and it went off but i turned the car on again and the light was back on maybee it was the 40K mile thoery i had...

then you didn't reset it properly..

turn the key in the car in the ON position when the lights on the dash are lit up... turn the ecu screw clock wise till it stops.. then count to 2, turn it anti clock wise till it stops.. count to 2, turn it clockwise again till it stops.. count to 2, then turn anti-clockwise until it stops and you are done

I got it, got a big cut on my arm too.... my dad just came home too he was like why are you all dirty hahaha it was great I know what im not gonna do anymore... lesson well learned

Yeah, I just put everything back together and he pulled up it was so close it coulda been a tv show or sumthing. I get to take the car out now bye people thanks agian for all who helped
