technically it could, however our engines are mounted in a fwd configuration. The way that is on our car, I believe the TB would be right behind the radiator

throttle body. And this is a replacement for a longitudely mounted rear wheel drive vq35 engine (look where the dip stick is on the g35, its off to the side near the intake pipe)

the maxima is a transversely mounted front wheel drive vq35 engine (dip stick at the front of the car, behind the radiator)

take note of the g35 rwd vq35 dip stick location, turn that engine clockwise 90 degrees while facing the front of the car and thats how our maxima engine is mounted. Hence if you looked down at the right side of the engine, thats where the tranny is.

look at these pics:

If it actually bolts on even though the connection of the air intake will be pointed at the radiator couldnt we modify the connection? The connection will be on the right side right? If we cut the curve out so that the intake goes sideway out the engine or some angle therein that will give the air intake room wouldnt it essentially fit? Once that part is cut a peice to put the bolts could be welded on. Would this be possible? Would removing the curved part cripple the design and cause a loss of power?

If I recall correctly Emax put a 350Z intake manifold onto his 2002 Maxima a while back. The hood wouldn't close all the way but from the looks of it the car ran fine with the Z manifold. However he went back to using the stock manifold.

good point. Two issues at hand:

1. Different stock intake manifold on both engines means different lower intake manifold to bolt up to. So with a 350z/g35 aftermarket IM, you MAY need the lower IM also.
2. Emax tried a stock 350Z manifold a while back and it simply wouldn't clear the hood

look at my ghetto cut and paste:

if i'm going to spend that amt of money, no way am I going to hack up a intake manifold and weld it back together. Its just going to be one big bubbly mess, who knows what could happen.
