Well... it was pretty much what I expected. I was disappointed in the lack of Altimas/Maximas that entered the show but there were some nice Z's that showed. I took over 190 pics and also took video. Atlantic City was pretty crazy that night.. for those that went to HIN know what I'm talking about.. lol

Attached is a pic of a nice 2K max with full kit & rims driving by..

Anyone get caught in the left lane on A.C. Expressway like I did? Waited nearly an hour to get through that crap. Not to mention the time to find parking and the time spent on the ticket line and entry line. Well, ticket line wasn't so bad if you ordered online. But I sure felt sorry for those buying at the door.

yea it took soooo long to get over the bridge.. we parked accross the street in the hospital parking lot, also... we crept into the front of the line and got our tickets (whoops) I saw some nice maxes on the way there, but 1MAX2NV was the onlyone in the show

Why is the traffic so bad?

here on the west coast, they have the show in Long Beach. The streets are jammed packed with spectators. They have the days show in open Irvine and the traffic wasn't neearly as bad. If you guys are die-hard car freaks like I was, walk in with a show car. I think it costs $40 to register your car and you can bring in a crew of 5 or 10 people (I don't remember which).

the traffic was crazy going down...the theme of the night seems to be:
Z3 style fenders
indiglo gauges
loud **** exhaust
LED lights for the washers
coil over or cut springs (some w/ stock wheels..some w/ aftermkt)
Honda and Acura badges that light up
people w/ loud horns
HID looking headlight bulbs
Altezza style lights
STICKERS!!!

that was just the cars on the way there..

in the show..
get a bunch of hot girls on your car and you'll get everyone to crowd you.
for some reason i though the show would be better..but the place seems to be empty or too big and the layout was kinda bad.

what a disappointment

I can't agree with you more...took me over three hours to get to AC(usually 2 hrs) and another 1 1/2 hrs to get home, just to look at all the hondas. The only thing I was glad was able to see a blue new M3 in person and took a picture with her. In my opinion, the M3 looks better in stock form than all those Honda show cars...

The only fun part was on the parkway racing my way home, with a TL and an Audi 1.8T. BTW, I got **killed**, bad, by the audi, every time from 70 and up, even with all my mods(intake, ypipe, bpipe, UDP, CAT). I have a 98 5 spd. But I think he must have NOS, otherwise there is no way. He just passed by me everytime, even after I downshift to 3rd, as if I was standing still. It was the worst kill I had, even worst than the GS400.

APC had the best booth but

having those 3 girls there didn't hurt either. It was disappointment though as the huge AC Convention Center did worse than the Meadowlands HIN from last year, very poor layout of cars and booths and a lack of well known import models.

Big Dissapointment.....

...but it was still fun. I'm glad I snuck in and didn't pay to see all those hondas with park benches on their trunks. I couldn't locate anyone in all the darkness and swarms of oriental people(no offense). The highlight of my night was that big a** subwoofer with the 2000*F lamp near it that burned ya when ya got to close. Oh yah, and toastin all the bottled up rice mobiles around the city in my friends 5.8liter stang.

I saw one real nice black maxima by Culmones(bar). Dropped with eibachs and no ground effects.

I pity all those waiting in line! I got there at 3:30 pm and there was at least 1000 people waiting to get in. I had about 2 hours to get a bunch of pics before the normal crowd was let in... overall, I got 300 pics. I left around 8:30 pm, headed over to Bally's Park Place, played some craps, took home $200.. drove by about 2.5-3 mile traffic jam on the AC Expressway coming in.

also, was there anyone in a white 4th gen Max, shaved rear emblems, stock wheels, on the side of the Route 9/Garden State Parkway taking a **** on the side of the road???!! LOL I drove right by you around 3 pm hehe

i think one of the nicest cars was an eclipse toward the back but his car was in the dark...
i got many pics with me and the ladies..
it took sooo long to get there on the expressway. i cut the line a little... there was also a white max staying at my hotel with an smx grill.

I parked at Trump Plaza... said I had a Trump Card when I didn't have it on me. She didn't even check me! $2 and a nice cosy spot on the 4th floor. Just glad it didn't rain. That 4 block walk would have really sucked.

You think I went for the show? Downgrade is not even the word to describe it since I think they only had half of what they had on the Meadowlands. Good thing we got tickets online too cause at around 11:30 there was still a line!

Could it be due to the fact that there hasn't been an Orient in 200 years?

FYI "oriental" is a type of food not a type of people ... please get it right. I think the word you were lookin for was ASIAN.

Actually you could use the term "Oriental" to describe people, but I believe it is a degrading term to use. It's like using "Negro" to describe African Americans. Nobody use those terms anymore. It's just not PC. I believe the term "Oriental" was used during the rail road building day for the Chinese rail road workers. I'm not a history major so maybe someone with a better understanding can enlighten us.

Oriental is used now pretty much to refer only to objects, not people.

The shift of Oriental to Asian came about, I believe, because Oriental means "eastern" and so identifies Asian countries/culture/people by their location relative to Europe. Kind of euro-centric.
